Prepare your ass for Scam Shitizen backers and fanboys to tell you how great it is when all evidence shows it's barely a game and buggy as shit. Oh I forgot it's still "Alpha" after fucking years of something akin to development.

Derek Smart was right.
>>
Greatness takes time. The game is real and it's going to be great. You're just mad because you can't afford a good ship and you're going to be owned in space by me and my multicrew.

At this point I honestly just hope that the entire project crashes so hard that even Bane would be amazed.

It's getting pretty pathetic. Incidentally, Cyberpunk 2077 was announced many months before Star Citizen. Guess what, it takes time to make games when you're not copy pasting shit.

CDPR isn't hyping it to the fucking moon either and promising things that will never exist in their game like Roberts is.

They are also not selling $2500 JPG's to idiots.
>>
>>342943486
This is true . Greatness takes time and what they've already got since they picked up development in 2014 is jawdropping. The big two (Activision and EA) tried to assert their dominance as triple AAA publishers by releasing their own space games to squash Star Citizen, but they got cold feet after seeing what Roberts has been cooking up and are rushing their releases to avoid becoming the next Battleborn.

They had a separate team (Team Black) on Cyberpunk since the announcement. Also anyone who thinks 116 mil is big for a game is a joke. Their only fucking income is the money the playerbase is willing to give them, they don't have a publisher or investor unlike CDPR that owns GOG. And yes, they're still getting a steady amount of money because guess what, if you actually follow development instead of regurgitating shit /v/ says, it's actually looking good.

Can you shill even harder? 116mil is an incredible amount of money for DEVELOPMENT budget. Majority of AAA games don't have $100mil development budget. Marketing money != development money.

>Cyberpunk team is small and the whole project was on backburner during the development of TW3.
They had about 100 people with a few swapping back and forth. CIG had 5. And yes, that still isn't anything for the game they want to make.
>>

If you have absolutely no standards, sure. There's been no actual progress in last half a year except for in-game shop and couple ships added into the game.
>b-b-but persistence
You mean basic save/load conditions that every MMO has? Truly amazing, now how about seamless transitions and landing zones? Mining? Piping and power lines? Other CORE features that were promised time and time again? B-but surely it's still alpha, right?.. Oh...
>b-b-b-b-but local grid
You mean "flying levels" with <<USE>> death triggers, people clipping though everything and sound engine that doesn't even work with them, making sounds completely ignore walls and floors? Quite an achievement.
>>
>>342944172

116 mil is a lot for a single game. Witcher 3 costed around 80 million after they marketed the shit out of it and hired more than a 100 freelancers and permananet members to just release it in time.

Tortanic costed 200 because of marketing, GTA 5 costed 250 because of all the licensed music and a bigger marketing than a blockbuster movie.
>>
>>342944493
>They had about 100 people with a few swapping back and forth. CIG had 5.
Thanks for the laugh. CIG had 150+ people for over 3 years, 300 for almost 2 years now. It's summer 2016 outside, not 2014 anymore to make "they just started development" excuses.

>We were talking about the state when both games were announced anon.
No, we were talking about how development of SC and Cyberpunk are completely different things because unlike SC CDPR actually spent all these years making Witcher 3 while Chrissy was jerking himself off on another tropical vacation and selling pictures of non-existing ships that they can't even deliver on.

LMAO.

This is a lie. Goons were in SC for literally $300,000 until Ben and Skavik made it clear that their EVE griefing/scamming ways were unwanted. Then they teamed up with Derek Smart to launch millions of fake support tickets and do fraudulent chargebacks to try to hurt CIG.

who cares? if the game comes out as expected I'll play it, if not or doesn't come at all I'll not play it. Simple as that. People who funded SC took business/economical risk that is pretty normal and usual in a funding, in every funding since thousands of years. They didn't pay for a complete product, didn't they? Stupid and useless to pretend completeness when it's just a project. Sorry not sorry.

>>
>>342947585
Haven't really used any of the weapons but it seems to work. Would still very much like to see it like the Arena Commander. Latest patch brought some neat new things though and despite all the shitposting, I'm still positive that it'll come out. As Chris said in the last 10 for the chinaman, they overhauled almost the complete engine to have it working. Hopefully we'll get more systems in now. Item 2.0 might bring a lot of changes.
>>
>>342947859
I thought 2.0 was brought it with the latest patch?
>>
>>342947948
No that was the item port system, or at least a part of it. Item 2.0 will be interesting because it handles logic entirely differently as well, each item can have their own logic, and each item attached as well. This way the workload can be distributed and is required for the network LoDs, which will make the universe not run like shit. Then probably not too long after procedural planets make it in so pretty much most of the engine-related things are solved. Then they have the rest of the time for making assets and the putting in the shitload they already have but not doing anything right now.
>>
>>342948060
Yeah, 10 for the chairman was posted on the 20th and he mentioned Item 2.0 in there. I like the new item port system actually. A bit cluttered on smaller ships but I like it better than the old system for ships. In fact I like a lot of the stuff they've been doing. I really hope that development will pick up speed once item 2.0 is in. From what I understand from the video he said that the engine rewrites are done now.

Im gonna bump the thread to make you faggot haters a little more buttblasted.

Star Citizen has by far the best technology in any game ever made right now. Being able to move from a space station, to a hanger, to inside the ship, watch a battle while standing behind the pilot, and then being able to EVA outside the ship and into another space station. By far, without any comparison, the most technologically impressive game.

It has the best flight mechanics of any game so far.

t has a great racing game that is very difficult and fun to learn.

It has a huge variety of ships and you could get them all for $30. Thats right, not $10,000 but THIRTY DOLLARS.

Game is currently fun, and the game will be even more fun as more updates are released.

Im happy with the progress so far. Fact you can physically walk into a ship and move about it while flying is a fucking miracle by itself, no other game has gotten it to work so well even at this level. The larger ships are already like maps for CQC fights and boarding them is fun.

What really pisses me off though the is waste of money on some things, like hiring big name actors. No game has enough cash cows to sustain development forever, that was a reckless expenditure.

It was marketed as being playable 3 years ago, and completed around last year.

The marketing is complete bullshit, pardon me if I don't trust it.

No Man's Sky because it has even more features than SC and was made by a team of like 10 people.

LOL, these? Even animations look horrible AND it's CGI, not even real time.
NMS has a cartoony but coherent stylized art direction. SC is a clusterfuck of highpoly models that all look like trash because in-game lighting is not what you see on pretty promotional renders. SC already looks outdated by modern standards, it's nowhere even close to cutting edge console games like Uncharted 4, not to mention Crysis 3 on PC that came out years ago.

The forumdads are getting worn down from what iv seen

Not that it changes anything, even though there is huge support for massive changes (even so far as many people supporting the idea of scrapping the expansions so they can focus on the games current content) there is no evidence the developers will listen to anyone.

Game is already doomed though. There is no redeeming it at this point.

>>342943486
At the rate its going it will be a very long time before its made. Those who have paid for this game to be made are very disappointed. It MIGHT be made, there is literally no guarantee of completion and the longer it takes to make the game the more chances of collapse there are. staying afloat may become a concern later on. There is reason to be concerned, don't deny it.

The concept of the game is pretty hype but the gameplay itself looks "okay". Its nothing spectacular except for a gimmick that will get dry and "just there" pretty quickly.

You could spend real money to get ED ships too, I have the proof as a original ED backer, got an Eagle for it.

I also got 10% off all ships/upgrades forever on my account, something that is absolutely P2W and puts me way ahead of everyone else. As well as cheaper insurance for life.

But both games planned/have removed ships as a purchasing option at release, and SC doesnt provide life time insurance anymore on older ships.

Maybe in EVE where a titan costs something like 30k USD, but I don't even know if those costs go up. In fact the only thing that seems to steadily increase in MMOs is the 'use this in-game item to get sub time' item, aka PLEX, APEX, WoW Tokens, ect.

I think it's interesting that people keep slamming Star Citizen when A) It's in ALPHA, and B) Only about 1/200th of the game is actually available to play (IF that...) and C) CIG regularly and clearly states that these are protype test builds of a game that has only really started to come together in the last 4 months.I worked in game design, albeit on a MUCH smaller project, but from my perspective, and understanding of the new technology involved, I am BLOWN AWAY by what I have seen so far. Knowing what is coming down the pipeline is even more impressive. These guys are literally doing something that hasn't been done before, and they are having to create actual new game engine technologies to do it. Because of that, yes, there are a TON of bugs. I can see why most studios don't even want the general public to get their hands on a game in alpha, and it's for exactly the same reason: people complaining about a product that's not even close to being finished. Yes, alphas are buggy as hell, unstable, and the frame rate sucks. Well, yes, that's what happens with EVERY AAA game before it reaches beta. It's just that in the case of SC, there aren't really any secrets about what they are doing, or why.As a backer of SC since 2012, not only am I impressed by the progress being made, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this will end up being one of the biggest MMOs out there when the commercial release version finally comes out. If you are a star wars fan, star trek fan, or a WOW junkie, there's going to be a whole new space universe coming, and it's going to be glorious!(And yes, ,there will be cantinas filled with aliens just like Star Wars).

I called it 2-3 years ago, if Star Citizen finishes and delivers the game it promised to be, then we will see an impact 10 times bigger than what WoW did to MMORPGS. Star Citizen will revive, revolutionize and reunify the mmorpg genre and players.

I haven't backed Star Citizen and don't plan to, based on principals, but the game will be great if it finishes and has done pretty good till now.

Really kid? Posting a shitty video with completely incorrect information, attempting to save face by addressing every single point while being wrong about all of them and then just spouting memes?

Do you really think you look smart or are 'winning' at life doing this? I just pity this is how you spend your time wasting it away hating on a game for no justifiable reason. And the worst part is there are plenty of reasons to hate SC but you missed the mark on all of them.

Please stop posting and be smarter next time, being a moron doesnt serve any purpose. I know you'll reply again to save face so ill save you the embarrassment by not replying anymore.

Jesus kids, they just fucking released any sort of persistence on the alpha server! They're developing it slow but steady, the right way, building up the systems they need to implement bigger features.

People whined they'd never have multiplayer ships. Well now we have them. They said we'd never have any hint of MMO gameplay. Well now, the alpha has some basic quests and hubs, persistence, and now a fucking store.

There is still a lot to go and that's fine. I'd rather have them spending their money on the game and small events rather than going to fucking E3 or whatever and getting shit on by stupid blogspam with the same kind of ideas as this post. Lets not forget that the game has only been in active development for a little while They're only 3 years out building something bigger and more complex, with lots of new ideas (ie the grabby-hands mechanic and inventory/cargo system ). World of Warcraft, funded and developed by one of the most well-heeled in the industry, and only was an evolutionary change from EverQuest and other mmos of the time (not a revolutionary one), started development in like 1998. There are screens of the alpha from 1999! It wasn't until almost 2005 that it actually released! We just didn't get to see it along the way.

Star Citizen is doing something much bigger, with a much lesser budget (yes, even with all their crowdfunding money they have a lower budget than a big name one-off shitbird title like Call of Duty, much less something like WoW. They're just spending it on the fucking game!), so just fucking calm down. They know they have to get it right. I don't care how long it takes really, if they can do that. Chris Roberts said the game and engine are made to evolve for more than a decade after proper launch, for that matter. I'm having fun with every alpha that is released and the is steady progress. This depth has never been attempted before. It will take time.

Nope, hes had a shady angle from the start, go look up his involvement in Alganon online and Star Trek online to see what he was really trying to do.

Maybe the last one is true, but given another year development its going to be a game you can play, even if they still label it 'alpha' (which they will)

Im happy, for the 30 buckaroos i spent its been worth it so far

Yeah but they've at least identified that, too much server bullshit is being piped to clients which is causing them to lag.

I honestly don't get the appeal.
Even in the unlikely reality that this game turns out to be 100% of what the developers and consumers wanted, it still sounds like shit.

>Pay 1000 dollars to get this cool ship
>Plus 800 dollars for insurance so that you can get it again if it's destroyed.

What Jewish bullshit is this? Why the fuck would I want to support or play a game that functions like this? I know you can steal ships from other players if you're skilled at it, but it doesn't change the fact the other guy is in an advantageous position because he paid 10k dollars for all ships.

The Wing Commander games were great, but I don't need a new one so badly that I'd get myself in this fucking pyramid scheme. Go fuck yourself, Chris Kikeberts.

I can neither confirm or deny many points you've made here, some of which seem valid.
HOWEVER
>flying still feels terrible
Please clarify. That's been the one excellent thing for me so far. Are you expecting jet fighter physics in a space sim?
If so, you're standard is wrong. Not the game's.
