Kinda, but I'd describe as "what if someone modernized HM formula?" Problem is it has none of HM charm and what's supposed to be endearing or funny in the game falls flat because it has to be topical and author clearly aiming for modern niche audiences. There's nothing wrong with that, I just find said audience obnoxious and it comes off as borderline pandering.

This. I hate games with item bloat where you have hundreds of "materials" items that have no function except to be put together to make functional shit. Not to mention most of those materials then become worthless after you make the few things that use them.
Have to scour through the game first to find the damn material you need, and then store it somewhere because your personal inventory can't hold all this shit while you go looking for other shit. Eventually it gets to the point where you're just sifting through and organizing a bunch of fucking crates of items in a cordoned off warehouse of your own creation lined with treasure chests, a defeated purpose of spending a ton of time just so that you'll not spend a ton of time later.
I'd be fine with it if the materials had their own very spacious (if not infinite, or with the ability to send items to an auto-organizing home storage and access that storage remotely when crafting shit instead of needing to put it into your pockets) inventory space while you then had limited space for gear and tools, all just to cut down on tedium, that would be fine. But fuck games where you have 20 item slots and the game has 20,000 miscellaneous items that you can't just throw away because you may need them.
