PS1 was worse, I think. The first part was a thing of the devil. And sometimes it didn't read the CD right and those ugly oversaturated blue colors popped on the screen.
I've come to hate the PS1/2 intro screens because the first thing that comes to mind is if the system is going to decide to read the disk or not.

I remember my Crash 1 disk had a similar error where the PS1 logo screen came up with a totally glitched PS logo and a music note that faded away. The game started just fine after that.
