Olgeird may have made a mistake, he may have been an asshole, but here are two facts you can not dispute:
1) He is still a human. Unlike O'Dimm, he is not an incarnation of evil. He has the potential to be good, and he makes mistakes. To deny this is to deny the concept of being human.
2) Even if he was an asshole, even if he made a mistake, choosing to let him suffer an eternity in O'Dimm's paws is unacceptable. Getting raped by demons for eternity, or going through unspeakable horrors for eternity, just because you made a mistake is simply too harsh... especially when Geralt can save him from this fate.

As a Witcher, I try not to get involved too much, but! Thaler, Ves and Roche are all smart dudes so I chose to back them since Thaler is my day one nigga and Roche, Ves and I went through Witcher 2 together; plus it seems they get the best deal, limited sovereignty and a semi-peaceful end. Didn't help that I told Emyr to fuck off and that I didn't give him his daughter so she can go be a time bending monster slayer; it's all good though, me and waifu are chilling in Kovir taking sheckle baths and fucking like Rabbits.
How is the expansion content for this? I beat the vanilla game but haven't bought any DLC yet.
Also when will they make a mod for multiplayer Gwent? That's easily my favorite game-within-a-game that I've played.

Fucking brilliant. Hearts of Stone has the best story in the game while Blood and Wine is just straight up better than the vanilla game and has a shitload of good content to invest in. Really recommend to anyone who liked Witcher 3 to get both DLC.

HoS might topple Bloody Baron as best quest in the game. B&W is pretty great and a good story with a load of new worthwhile monsters but its hard to beat HoS in story delivery. Also you bro out with old friends for like half the story in both of them, so its pretty nice. They offer some nice new mechanics that are worthwhile if you might be interested in NG+ in the form of new runes and mutations, like freezing guys with Aard.
Gwent is getting a standalone release and will have MP like that but not in TW3.

To be fair, consider this:
Olgierd fucked up. Fucked up badly, and loved Iris - he did the only thing he could, make a gamble and deal with the... well, technically, an ancient Vran thing/Devil. Thinking conjunction of spheres, O'dimm probably is this world's devil, or a really powerful djinn/demon thing.
Anyway, the reason i quoted all of you is that Olgierd, while having a heart of stone, still tried his best - because deep down, inside his frozen, rock-solid heart, he still felt love for Iris.
Olgierd didn't want to let his brother be killed, or anything else. It was all O'dimm's manipulation.
Come to think of it, O'dimm is probably a very strong monster/mage/vran that deals in necromancy.
Even at the end of HoS, before the final talk with O'dimm and Olgierd, you get to let him know that Iris loves him, and with the proper choices, he can return to her.
Just watch that fucking scene and tell me he wasn't fucked up beyond all belief by O'dimm just FOR SHITS AND GIGGLES.

This quest was originally meant to have Dijkstra being a lot more smart with his betrayal with assassins being sent after you and having to pick between saving Roche & co. or going after Dijkstra, but alas, they ran out of time.

However, O'Dimm manipulated events that led to Geralt killing the Ofieri prince just so O'Dimm could free Geralt and making him owe him a favor. So fuck him.

Been playing Witcher 3 for the first time.
I think I'm on the mission where you have to board the boat to Skellige or whatever it's called.
While I like the gameplay, or rather I'm indifferent to it, I feel like the open world leaves a lot to be desired for. Sure it looks pretty, but once that effect wears itself out, the world just feels... I don't know, boring, bland? It doesn't feel especially interesting to me for whatever reason.

He didn't make it, remained passive because he didn't want any of what O'dimm forced on him. But since his heartlessness kicked in, he took the money. I let Gaunter collect Olgierd's soul as I thought it was something Geralt would do. Gaunter O Dimm is not a monster as he dosent seem to be affected by being close to a witcher with a silver sword, similar to the Lady of the Lake in the Witcher 1 and B&W. They're not humans, nonhumans, or monsters, just something beyond. I doubt think its a coincidence that his initials spell out God either.
While on the other hand Olgierd raped and pillaged with his brother like a common bandit, except he had a nice mustache. It was his own fault for getting married and squandering his own fortune. He then wished for a heart of stone for immortality without thinking of the consequences such as no longer having emotion. Before that he killed his lover's father in front of her and trapped her in her own home.
Olgierd was a monster.
Gaunter O Dimm is also similar to witcher, he grants people's wishes and requires the payment of souls. In the tavern scene he even explains its not his fault people word their wishes the way they do without thinking of how it can be taken advantage of. If you help Olgierd kill the Prince Frog, bring his brother back to life and give him the time of his life as he tries to seduce your friend, steal an auction house papers and bring an artifact from his dead wife all you get is a sword that can easily be replaced by a witcher sword. Helping O Dimm who helps your complete all these tasks gives you information about Ciri that helps you save her life, which is better to Geralt than a 2,000 oren sword.
Finally, would you really want someone as powerful and immortal as Gaunter as an enemy?
