Eh, 3 is my personal favorite. 4 characters are way too large and camera is too close, so half the time you can't see shit, can't unlock a harness until you finish one campaign, unlocking side missions is tedious and controls feel stiff, stiffer than in 3 imo, mainly because you can never hit what you want with two normals and a strong.
Also 3, 7 and 8 have better soundtracks.

I'm playing right now and I'm pleasantly surprised to see how much content this game has.
I just cleared 2nd part of Shu's Story mode (XL one) and am working on others.
Sometimes I decide to get someone's 5 or 6 star weapon, then I play a bit in Ambition Mode which is huge.
Then I noticed there's a fuckton of DLC stages.
God knows when I'll complete all of it.

It's my least favorite level in every single DW game. I get excited for each new DW game, but also feel some sort of dread that I'll have to drag myself through Chur Bee again
One thing I don't like about 6 onwards was that there was always a fuck ton more enemies than there were ally soldiers and you could kill 30 in one swipe. DW4 was perfect because even on Easy, each soldier took 2-3 hits to kill.

I cleared the first part of Ambition a year ago, I forgot the exact requirements now.
You basically prepare your camp (Tongquetai) so the Emperor can visit. I think for this to happen you have to max each Facility level to the max.
You obtain materials in specific stages that you select when talking to the guard.
Other stages have more officers that you recruit when beat.
After 3-4 stages you get a "boss" stage and where a playable officer is the boss and beating him will recruit him and allow you to use him in Ambition Mode. (Your starter in Ambition Mode isn't important, you can just dump him)

based fucking xiahou dun. I think it was in dw 4 or 3 where there was a cutscene dedicated to it and after you cleared the stage you got his ultimate weapon. Loved that system too, each character had to do something specific in a certain battle for their ultimate weapon.
