I mean when will they just make a good fighting game instead of dumbing it down and putting random gimmicks in these newer games. You could argue that they want to appeal to a bigger audience, but Xrd completely failed and sold poorly. People don't want it. They want Blazblue and Persona. Also, the roster and netcode was absolute garbage.
Instead of being flashy and dynamic (Ishiwatari said this was his goal) the game is always stuttering every 5 seconds because it's so easy to execute and get meter for a YRC. There's no timing or skill involved anymore. Characters even lost their moves which required timing such as sidewinder. There's no satisfaction to anything because you don't need to put in effort anymore.
In SF4, links require timing and effort, making the gameplay very satisfying when you execute well. It's not just get 25 meter and you can cancel. Danger Time adds nothing to the game and is completely random.
If Daisuki wanted a flashy, over the top game, why is blazblue doing that better than Xrd? The supers/instant kills in Xrd are so weak and lame, no impact, none of them look like they hurt. Compared to Blazblue's which actually are flashy, and have a lot of impact.
I really wanna like GG, but it just disappoints non-stop for so many years now. (sorry for bad english)

Becoming a little bit proficient quickly with a new character is always beneficial especially when you're already a very strong fundamental player like Kazunoko is. He's been playing gear for like a decade now and he's nowhere near new to the series or competition against the strongest players.
It's very fair to say that his fundamentals+gaining knowledge with Raven was enough to beat Marlinpie and really pretty much any american player due to his higher Zato matchup exp and Marlins complete lack of exp with a brand new character.
Oh and it's also not like he just netplays to gain skill/matchup data like we pretty much are required to do here due to all the good players being very spread out. He has Machaboo as a close friend and that's one hell of a training partner.

fun fact but arcade Revelator has a native +2 frames of lag more than console to the point that they actually change it in-game in their console play to replicate the arcade feeling. This is actually true of almost every arcade fighting game, but it varies.
but yeah it's hard here, not impossible as shown by certain players across many games but it is hard.
