Well it kinda is a girly doll house game, anon. 99% of the gameplay in a Sims game is just whatever limits/rules/goals you set for yourself. Although that's partly why 3 was so good, it had the "Story mode" shit which had some good mods, which made the NPCs a lot more lively and have more personality. Greatly improves your own sandbox play if all the NPCs running around are dynamically doing shit. It's mostly why I couldn't stand Sims 4, losing that felt like a huge step back.

I dunno what the deal is, but for having such active modders there's distressingly little in the way of rape and graphical fucking in the Sims series. About the only rape mod I remember seeing was for Sims... 2, I think it was. Did the normal fight animation, and then had "I was raped :(" moodlets. It was pretty much complete garbage.

The CYOA tranny-pandering games from Hosted Games/Choice of Games are a guilty pleasure. I filled out my collection of 'em today. Deep down inside I feel bad about spending $40 on really shitty text adventures when I would enjoy something like Total Warhammer more individually, but I dunno. They're addicting. Out of all of the ones I've played, only one was genuinely good (Choice of Robots) but some of the rest have been hilariously entertaining because of how goddamn gay things get. Did the stats have an impact on it? Or the choices have consequences? My favorite part about those is when they actually lean more heavily on the game side and make you focus and try to play to your strengths, whatever those may be in the game. Tin Star was a bad example of that, because even though it seemed to be tracking a lot of stats/skills/relationships, I never once failed a check during it even when I wasn't heavily specialized for something. Also had the mandatory Choice Of gay when a gummy prospector got frisky after I bought him a steak (Note to self, buying someone a steak is code for gay sex) but not leaning on the stats more was the most disappointing part.

I remember that as a kid, my local library had Sims 2 and all of the expansion packs, and I realised a cunning plan to be able to use all the expansions without buying them even tho I had to return them: I bought the Sims 2 base game and the most recent expansion (dont remember what it was), then I borrowed all the older ones and installed the lot. Because the game was launched from the most recent expansion's CD, I could install all the other expansions without paying a single cent. I felt like a fucking 9-year-old gangster.
