FFXIII was a fuck you I liked it, XIII-2 was actually well liked and is regarded fairly well.

A good game but it seemed that people are too dead set in their ways in how RPG's function mechanically to be able to adapt to radically different growth, battle, and map mechanics.

I love Ito-san's work on the SaGa games. The SaGa series has exceptionally amazing music all around. The Orchestral SaGa album that came out gives me chills and helps my creativity flourish and proliferate as a fantasy writer just listening to it while writing.

I think it was pretty well received. Granted I was in eigth grade when it came out and we didn't discuss this shit online, but the independent gaming magazines at the time were all okay with it.
