Square seems better at handling Nintendo's properties than they are. Why don't they collaborate more?

Because people forget that they helped with some of the sports titles.

They could certainly make a better Mario RPG than modern IS at least.

I'm legitimately curious what a modern Mario RPG helmed by SE would produce, in any and every capacity. Would it stick with more traditional turn-based mechanics or move into something more in the action RPG direction like their other modern titles? Would it continue the story from the last one or pull a Final Fantasy and start fresh again with a new interpretation of the Mario setting? Would it go any deeper into custom character progression or keep it basic but intuitive?

That's how I feel about the Co-developed Zelda games with Capcom. Oracles, Link's Awakening, and Minish Cap are easily some of the best Zelda games ever.

It's probably expensive to collaborate and hard to give up creative liberty on your babies. That said, I feel like collaborating can also relieve a lot of pressure and create an overall better game regardless of which parties are involved.

>Oracles, Link's Awakening, and Minish Cap
Just gives the series over to Capcom already.

There were disputes over the profits of Super Mario RPG. Nintendo was too jewish at the time. That's the whole reason why Squaresoft at the time broke away from Nintendo and made FF7 for Playstation instead of N64.

Capcom didn't make Link's Awakening

They're Japanese, just as tribal and greedy.

Because they no longer exist.

Square isn't Square anymore, that's why.

Super Mario RPG is one of the best things they ever made.
