Steam has good chances to still be here in 50 years because they don't depend on stoke holders. It is one of the few big companies out there actually avoiding the game of stock exchange. If they fail at something, it will cost them money, but only their own and won't have to fear the pressure of investors.
Also as they have the monopoly on digital distribution, they won't go anywhere for at the foreseeable decades.
