Dissappointed in myself for never beating it, as a kid I was too dumb, and a few years ago when I tried It I was too impatient. Always felt it was ahead of its time, can't say its overrated as I never finished it.

I've said it before, but the one thing this game needed was quick weapon switching.
A PC release where weapon slots were bound to the number row would be perfect.
That, and model updates with different armours.
Still one of my absolute favourite games, though.

Great game, but it's clear lots of content has been cut from it, and it's meant to get sequels. Like that couple of bounty hunters, that's introduced as a boss fight, never to appear again. Until the credits roll, in which you see concept art of Ashley adventuring together with them etc. The ending is literally "this is the beginning of the Vagrant Story™".

It's really a victim of its time because I don't think game even uses the second analog stick. While it would've most likely just been used to rotate the camera, it would've been a perfect fit for mapping gear shortcuts like games do nowadays.

There's no grinding because there's no levels. You didn't need to max out weapon stats on any weapons or make better armor. You 'could' but that would be at the end of theg ame and in ng+ and was never needed.

Everytime I play Vagrant Story I get about halfway through before I stop playing. I love almost everything about it, but holy shit does it get tedious. No quick way to switch weapons in a game that wants you to constantly switch weapons is kinda retarded.
