I was hoping there'd be some daily deals, but it's just looking to be 2 weeks of "Here's what's discounted, buy it." Most of the deals I've seen aren't even that good.
I saw Ghostbusters on sale for $2.50 and bought it for the movie nostalgia factor. That's been it.

For what its worth, I don't typically like those types of games but I am enjoying Momodora. I think I'm towards the end with like 3.5 hours on it, though.
I've seen enough of them by now to own most if not all of what i'd want, they have removed anything that gives seasonal sales charm, polls that unlock extra sales are gone now, "discovery" queue is awful so cards aren't even worth going for, and they have actually put a section on the main page for f2p games paid DLC/items/cosmetics.
GoG's last sale was the same way about "stuff I already own goes on sale" though, and that was where I was usually going when Steam shit the bed.

Thing is, you have to take into account the jackasses who will do anything to abuse the refund system.
There is a cost to refunding a game, and at a certain price point the effort to refund outweighs the lost profits from lower the price further.
There's really no reason to "care" since it's no longer an event. What I mean is that, aside from clicking through 12 games in your queue as fast as possible to get a $0.10 card, there's no reason to come back after the first day. What's on sale now is what will be on sale until July 4th.
I'm not sure why but it's apparent that Valve is deliberately trying to kill the Steam sale hype. Maybe their sales started to suffer when it became obvious even to morons that there's no reason to buy anything on Steam outside of the two major annual sales, and maybe Valve wants to unspoil their customers with a few years of thoroughly forgettable sales. Maybe someday they can have a really great sale again, and then people will actually give a shit. But nobody really gave that much of a shit when it was normal. Rather than "oh wow a great sale", it was more like "oh finally it's the one time of year when I can buy a Steam game without throwing my money away."
