We have long said bye bye to the days of 80 and 90% off barring some shit indie title. Now we're seeing 75% off going away. Just look at the front page. Its riddled with titles that are 20 or 33% off. 50% off seems to already be the standard for a majority of these games. next will be 33 and then 25%. before you know it, you'll be paying nearly full retail value without any of the benefits of physical media.

It's really too bad. The steam sale used to be a great event. People got complacent and lazy, not waiting for the right time to buy games. So Valve did away with what truly made the sales worth it, the daily deals, flash sales, and extra shit.
The approach of "wait until the game goes on daily/flash or it's the final day" doesn't work anymore, and it's a damn shame. Now everything is just 50% off or worse, and AAA titles are barely on sale. Even indies really aren't going beyond 60% anymore. The sale legitimately used to give you great products heavily discounted but now it's not worth the hype that still surrounds it.
