>you will never play Chrono Trigger for the first time
I played it in Japanese for the first time a few months ago, so it was kinda new again.
>>342654134
I'm pretty sure everyone can play Chrono Trigger for a first time.
I've never played it before actually
played it, got 20 hours in then it corrupted at the time portal, no thx wont do that shit again
Sucks. Your first playthrough is the only time the game is genuinely fun.

>you will never visit zeal for the first time again

Jokes on you, I've never played Chrono Trigger.
You will never experienceCrono dying and being able to finish the game without resurrecting himagain. I somehow went so many years with that part unspoiled and it was one of the most shocking gaming moments I've ever experienced
>>342654779
Pretty heavy spiler, just a heads up.
is there any recent game where you can do anything similar?
I just can't see developpers having the balls
>>342654478
>This is the eternal kingdom of Zeal, where dreams can come true. But at what price?
>>342655040
Of what, killing the main character, even if temporarily?
I can because I still haven't played it
:DD
>you will never finish a single rpg in your life
someday...
I played it many moons hence and nothing since has resonated so deeply with me. The cast, the soundtrack, the locations, the above spoiler... all fantastic.
>>342654373
Same here first time i've ever heard of it. Is it an RPG?
>>342656853
Try Cross, its different, but I actually enjoyed it more. Both are fantastic games.
>>342656973
It's a Super Nintendo RPG that is regarded as one of the best JRPG's of all time.
It also has a DS remake. Pretty superb game, would highly recommend giving it a shot.
>>342657015
Played Cross, and it was acceptable, but not to Trigger's super high standard.
>>342655040
>developpers
>spiler
I really need to start proofreading
>>342656659
yup
>>342657137
>yup
Let's just say that Xenoblade Chronicles is very influenced by Chrono Trigger.
>>342657273
well shit I stopped playing xenoblade after you get riki cause I was without a PC for a month.Shulk gets popped?
>Got all the way to the final boss
>Lost the save file
It's annoying. I've basically completed it, but at the same time I haven't.
Maybe I should download a save just before the final boss and go from there.
>>342657134
The huge amount of characters didn't sit well with me, however I liked the soundtrack/artstyle/story more.
The dead sea was my favorite part of the game. What a crazy turn of events
>>342654478
>>342656629
>play Chrono Trigger for the first time in winter like 8 years ago
>visit Zeal
best feeling ever, truly a masterpiece
>>342657408
Shulk gets SUPER popped, and you play for a while without him. Shulk gets popped so hard he goes into convulsions before croaking on the floor.
>>342654134
But I actually did play it once and then stopped after a few hours.
>>342657662
I need to boot up dolphin again, but xenoblade was pushing me cause i have a compulsive need to do all sidequests, and damn that game doesn't fuck around with the amount it throws at you

This piece is amazing

>The dead sea was my favorite part of the game. What a crazy turn of events
The dimensional vortex was my favorite part of the game. After taking in a tornado of plot twists, you needed some time... some alone time to take it all in without going insane. The gorgeous artstyle (impressionism?) and the music really helped with the coping session.

Shame the game couldn't match up to Chrono Trigger as a proper sequel.
>>342657653
I think I've yet to play anything that comes close to the feeling of going up to zeal from that frozen wasteland
The game is too fucking easy.
>>342654134
Technically you can if you get Alzheimer's.
>>342655040
>Pretty heavy spiler, just a heads up.
like it matters in 2016
darth vader is luke's dad
>>342658403
I played the game 4 years ago, for the first time, without knowing any spoilers and it is now my favourite game.
Some people actually have self control you jaded fuck
>>342654134
I still can since I've never got past the festival.
>>342658598
snape is harry's mom
>youll never see Ragnaros for the first time ever again
>youll never do the hunter epic bow quest again and feel the excitement when you killed the last demon
>>342657459
>>342657997
Cross was too ambitious for its own good. If they'd scaled back that shit with Balthasar and the useless playable characters it could have been a lot better.
>>342654134
You could say this is a Chrono Trigger.
>>342657015
Is there a good fan translation for it?
I've tried this game like 3 times and usually stop around getting the Masamune. No real reason why but the game has never really clicked with me. Probably just me, I'm sure the games good
>>342663395
What do you mean? The game comes in English
>>342664083
Yeah but it has stupid shit like Grand Leon being called Masamune, I'd rather play a proper translation.
>>342664257
Oh yeah I'm retarded sorry
This hurts more with OoT for me. I'm really starting to doubt I will ever be as happy as I was the Christmas morning when I got Ocarina of Time
>>342654134
I've never played it before. Have it currently downloaded on my vita and will be playing it after I have been FF6 for my first time.
>>342654779
That got spoiled for me by a fucking gamefaqs poll back in the day, WHILE I WAS CURRENTLY DOING MY FIRST PLAY THROUGH. I never actually finished the game because of it
>>342666409
>Playing the worst version
Enjoy being a cuck.
>>342654134
>those games that you play 1-2 times at most yet they stick with you better than games you played more times
That's when you know you played a masterpiece. Only played through it once yet it remains more memorable for me then most games I played.
>>342668751
I only played up to the part where you go to that pocket dimension thing and it still sticks with me more than games Ive actually finished
>>342668926
You need to at least beat it once man. The music is fantastic. Nobuo Uematsu is a god. I'm glad I got the best possible ending to without really trying for it.
