Who is the best colossus and why is it Braba?
>>342650640
There's a typo on Phalanx there.
The 2 flying ones were the most exciting to fight.
Are those the original graphics ?
Looks pretty impressive for a ps2 game
>>342650640
the big one was the best
Malus
My favorite was Pelagia.
>>342651879
Mine too, though he creeped me out just a bit.
Favourite to fight is giant flying desert one, he's also the biggest and least aggressive, since he doesn't even attack you.
Most iconic would be the third one though.
>>342652410
>doesn't attack you
Yes he does
>>342652410
I would argue the first one is the most iconic, with the third following right after. Everyone has done the first one a million and one times, he's a lot of fun if not a bit easy.
Phalanx so sugoi tho
This fucking scared the shit out of me, and I played it for the first time like a week ago
anyone able to get sotc running well on pcsx2 1.5.0?
>>342651301
That image looks a little too sharp to be the original but the original did have very good graphics at the time that still hold up today.
>>342651301
>>342653907
Especially with the lighting. The lighting design in SotC is god tier for the time, and remains to be one of the best imo.
>>342651879
he creeped me out a lot, fucking eyeless giant water cow, and the music that plays during the first exploration phase is one ofthe most unsettling of the game.
>>342654837
Hitting those things on its head reminded me of the gross teeth in the Super Mario Sunshine eel with cavities level
>>342650764
Man I still remember my first time fighting the flying colossus. I was watching this dude just fly around thinking "how the fuck do I kill it?". Then when it dawned on me I had to jump on it as it swooped down then climb it as it flew around, my mind was fucking blown
>>342654837
baby.
will last guardian be good?
>>342656752
It has to be good, in no way will the game be bad. Considering the pedigree of Team Ico and Fumito Ueda, the game will build upon the gamelpay of SotC (hope they keep the way grabbing and jumping works). And with the new trailer showcasing enemies, I'm pretty sure it will deliver.
Hydrus will make you fear open water.
>>342653417
It runs fine on my version 1.2.1. And I've got a CPU from '08.
one of the best fights in games
The fights with the smaller ones were fun the one in that circular building was great
The one where you lead him to a geyser to tip him over was based.
>>342651879
Dude that thing gave me so much frustration trying to figure out how to beat it. Which to be fair, some of the colossi are really worse with RNG shakes that can either screw you out of stamina or just not. But all in all, I ended liking him as one of the best when it was all said and done.
>>342652875
I love Shadow of the Colossus, but I really feel like it probably should have received a bit more flack for its colossus roster. I mean, initially they were going to have more. Then they reduced the number. Then reduced it again. And then in the final product there are two still some colossi that are almost identical from a art design standpoint. 3 of them are just the first boss with more or less hair. And there are 2 tigers. Love the game, don't get me wrong... but when the whole game is only about 16 bosses that's kind of whack. Especially since so many much larger games get much more flack for those kinds of oversights.
>>342657192
I feared it anyways, in the bird fight. There is something makes me really hydrophobic when you see right through the water and its just darkness down there. Same thing creeped me out about The Abyss Four Kings in Dark Souls.
>>342657342
would you happen to know how to reduce the bloom?
So is SoTC a prequel to ico?
>>342660841
Yes.
>>342653417
>not emulating the superior ps3 version
>>342661223
is Ico good?
I got the hd collection but only played SOTC
Yes, well done Wander, well done.
HOWEVER
>>342662643
Ico is good. It has a charm that SoTC does not.
>>342662643
Yes, ignore the meme of Yorda being useless, since that's the whole fucking point, she "technically" is but there's no reason for her to do anything else. It's more of a enviromental puzzler than anything else, best in the genre
Gaius is the best
>>342657502
>>342664005
>mfw gaius on hard mode time attack
I can't be the only Phaedra fan here
Is the HD remake fucked?
Wander won't stop tumbling around on colossi.
>>342664573
Apparently that's due to the improved framerate, it's how the game was supposed to play since the original was pushing framerate limits. Just keep trying and maybe the rng will bless you with less shaking colossi
>>342664135
Graceful
>>342656387
I remember being completely blown away by that fight. I went to school the day after beating it, told my friends and they immediately bought the game. They didn't regret it.
>>342664573
Also, I though the same thing, but Time Attack is pretty easy on normal on PS3, did all of them in around a hour
>>342657502
>Mr. Never stop shaking and waste all of your time in time attack
Yeah no, fuck that.
>>342653149
had a heart attack, fuck
even worse is when youre on the horse face to face
FUCK all the watery abysses in this game, holy FUCK
>>342650640
Too basic. Cenobia best colussus. The panic when he started knocking down the pillars.
>>342664135
This nigga was creepy as fuck
So how do you guys think The Last Guardian is related to SOTC/ICO?
Trico seems to be a Colossus of somekind, his eyes specially give it away, they even change color depending on his emotions; Blue is for normal, yellow is for alarmed/curious and red is for angry.
>>342667845
I always thought the small colossi were the scariest
What are your favorite tracks? Here's mine, always gets me pumped.

>Not revived power
How is this one not the best? Shit's so cash.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVNcmGjNW6c&index=13&list=PL4619CDF2FD0D8394
>>342669606
>>342669916
Shit... now I have to pop open the PCSX2 emulator.
>>342664135
His time trials were annoying as fuck. I swear there was no consistency in how to make him look in the fucking holes like godddamn.
>>342669916
>revived power
good taste
this is up there for best video game song of all time
>>342664135
That one was only really memorable to me for being the first time I actually felt bad for killing one.
>>342657502
That guys my favorite because it was the first time I got the feeling of "Wow, that guy's fuckin BIG."
>Killing inoffensive collosi to revive your whore girlfriend and die immediately afterwards
Is there a more cucked protagonist?
>tfw spider colossus didn't make the cut
>>342651879
What the fuck was this thing
All of the Colossi are clearly based on something and then there's this weirdo with no eyes, teeth growing out of his grassy-ass head, body shape of a gorilla and stumps for feet/hands
>>342670738
>>342670442
How do you know she's his girlfriend?
>cucked
He got what he wanted and Mono lived on
>>342670442
>>342670914
I always liked to think that the girl is his imouto.
>>342670442
dormin dindu nuffin the colossi were gud boys de were changing de ways
>>342670768That's his lower jaw. The top half got ripped off.
>>342671126
The colossi were sealing Dormin though, this post makes no sense.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzfOGO0qJmA
Underrated
How about that viral marketing campaign?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcsEfajSwSs
>>342671273
Who did that?
>>342669606
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sr2nK06zZkg&index=32&list=FLVcxfIvRtmBoEp1JHEqX0-Q
this is my favorite
>>342669916
SotC and Xenoblade Chronicles are the only times I have ever enjoyed an orchestral soundtrack.
>>342671459
I never knew about that. Shit like this was always super clever to me.
>>342671459
I remember reading about that way back when
In retrospect it was pretty ahead of the time for a game to do a viral campaign trying to pass off as real, especially given how fantastical SotC is
This is my favorite track from all the OST
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWxYnyT4sLA&index=25
It just sounds so heroic and fitting considering the type of gigantic foes you need to face with almost no gear or training.
I always think of this track when Im facing a complicated situation and I need a boost.
Also the sand dragon was the best colossus.
>>342672848
I just really like how Shadow of the Colossus has what feels like a soundtrack all its own. Many orchestrated soundtracks sound samey, but I really feel like this game's OST is so freaking unique.
>>342666747
>Time Attack is pretty easy on normal on PS3
Colossus 3 and 15 shake you so much you never really have any time to attack them at all no matter what mode.
>>342671365
There was no indication of Dormin being "evil" though. If anything it's the humans that looked like ignorant zealots to me, especially seeing how callously they executed Wander.
>>342673720
I didn't say Dormin was evil, but that poster was acting like Dormin was controlling the colossi or something.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w09sKTkyAOk
>>342673643
Well then I got lucky today. Yesterday I fucking hated 3 because I literally couldn't stop shaking. Took me one try today with 8 seconds to spare. 15 gave me abit of trouble but I did in in two tries.
>>342674559
I forget, since I haven't played normal mode in a while, do you stab 15 in the chest there? The shaking problem I had was from having to deal with that on hard mode.
>>342670857
aaaaaaaaaaaaaa
>yfw it has the same creepy movement a spider does
>>342674772
No, you stab him on his head and his hand, he does tend to shake a lot, so I would recommend practicing that stab jump, it will save you a lot of time
>>342675071
There's a "sweet spot" on his head, where you don''t shake all that much, that's what I use to get past that part fast.
>>342675786
I noticed that with almost all bipedal colossi, there's a spot where Wander will almost never loose his footing.
>>342671365
>>342671126
The Colossi WERE Dormin. A long time ago the priests of whatever religion Wnader belonged to split Dormin into 16 pieces and sealed him in the idols, which over lead to the colossi arising from the land.
The evil queen in Ico is gathering the horned children to once again gain the power of Dormin.
>>342664135
>Waste like 2 minutes just getting to a point where you can climb him in time attack.
Yeah fuck that.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aYI-lIic6I
I just kept trying till I got this to work.
damn, this game was so ahead of its time... i just want a remake, with better graphics and nothing more, the same mechanics, same music, same collossus
>>342650640
Some one doesnt know how to spell Celosia
>feels
>>342676851
>same collossus
>Not wanting them to add in cut bosses
Nigga
>>342676357
Dormin was the black shit that comes out of the colossi though.
Nothing anywhere implies he was controlling them.
It makes more sense they were guardians created by the priests.
>>342676983
idk, i guess i´m a purist
>>342676983
I think the game had the right amount of colossus in it, it could have easily dragged out if there was to many of them.
Will the last guardian have colossi in it?
>>342670857
that's not even a spider. It has six legs.
>>342650741
technically it's all typos because none of the colossi are actually named
Avion is the best.
Also, I'm the only one who likes those smaller colossi?
>>342671273
fuck. That makes sense. So that's why it's blind and responds to commands. Kinda feels shitty though, that colossi was probably the least threatening to all.
So I've actually never played shadow, but it seems like a really great game. How would you anons recommend playing it, I only have a PC.
>>342679019
just try to get a ps2, emulation is a mess
>>342650640
>tfw doing time attack on this guy and you jump and grab on to his beard during the cutscene where he breaks through the first wall
>>342678283
I like them too, they feel dangerous, and it stings when one gets a hit on you
>>342677020
Never said he was controlling them, just that the colossi/idols were linked like two sides of the same coin, and that dormin was physically or magically torn apart into at least 17 pieces, because the talking voice comes out of the sky and presumably is also a portion of dormin.
