What's the point? Unless you're playing Dota 2 or CSGO and a few other online modes of games there is literally no need for it.
Almost everything on Steam is available through other means (buy without DRM/pirate/emulate).

There are plenty of games that basically force you to use Steam unless you are maybe doing something like smartsteamemu. That being said, Valve is shit and so is Steam.
