I got it in the mail today, paid $15. Not very far but the music has been advertised great, some memorable scenery, and the combat has been pretty OK. The projectile spell I played around with in the intro was even quite fun.

There weas some details and symbolism lost not to mention some very awkward scenes due to how he was just pushed in, but the voice acting and father role did a great job in setting up a kind of depressive unique setting where you are a dad trying to cure your incurable daughter.
With the side material, it really comes to light that the story was made with the brother in mind, a lot of the struggles gain importance, the timeskip itself is entirely different and it simply fits together unlike with papa nier.

In western version, you play as Conan the Barbarian who just wants to save his daughter, and it's played completely straight like that.
