Due to being a retard I bent a bunch of pins on my CPU while applying a new coat of thermal paste and now my computer is out of commission until I save up for a new CPU.
However, I still have my dusty ass PS4 that I never touched. What are some good PS4 games?

As far as I know you don't have to take the fucking processor off the motherboard, you just have to remove your cooler, clean that and the processor, and then apply new paste.

Not OP, but the last time I added thermal paste to my CPU, the CPU got out 'cos it fused together with the thermal paste. Luckily I am not OP and just put it back it with no problems.
No clue how he bent the pins tho, maybe he forgot to release the "safety lever thingy" that keeps the processor in place before attempting to put it back.

get you the smallest flathead screwdriver you can find in a glasses repair kit or some other sort of thin but rigid tool and bend them all back. You can use the straight ones as reference but as long as you dont snap off the pins it isn't broken.

I've done it before. The paste sealed the heatsink to the cpu and I put a little too much elbow grease into it. It snapped the cpu free from the board, bending a few pins. I was sweating bullets the whole time trying to put them back into place.

How do you clean off old thermal paste by the way? I'm pretty sure I need to reapply it on my work laptop since it idles at 60°C nowadays (fan and airflow is fine) but I've never done it before. I'm pretty sure I can't just scrub it off with steel wool.

I thought all the non retard vendors put the pins on the motherboard instead. from the 1155 socket onward they even have this pin design where the pin isn't actually hardplanted into the plate, but instead kind of floating on a small gold plate that is very flexible and connected to the motherboard itself. makes it practically impossible to fuck shit up and if you do, its no problem to put it back into place
