Well obviously you'd have to expand the mechanics of EO5 to accommodate Pokemon's wider variety of elemental affinities.
So Fire, Ice, Volt, Slash, Stab, Bash becomes the whole Pokemon weakness chart, and Pokemon moves are tweaked and expanded to work in EO's battle system with its multiple rows and fighting multiple targets at once.
And instead of one-on-one with special cases for dual battles and the increasing insanity of whatever they're adding with the 3DS titles like that four-way thing, it's just the usual EO five person setup. Or five Pokemon rather.
I'd plan something like the Persona Q subpersona system, or the subclassing/reclassing/Grimoire elements of EO proper, in the sense that you form a conventional EO party in the guild organizing place like normal, but instead of just fighting directly, they're trainers that can affect Pokemon's development and evolution(e.g. Protector/Fortress-tank types would allow access to defensive powers to the Pokemon assigned to them).
It simply augments the natural developmental abilities of Pokemon(leveling up, learning skills, evolving).
This I feel could accommodate EO's long-term development with Pokemon's higher variability and rapidfire team switching.
RPG-wise it works like normal, but all the enemies are just replaced with Pokemon, with FOEs naturally just being higher-tier Pokemon, and rare breeds being shinies.
Also you can capture Pokemon, obviously.

They really should lend out their IP more next gen. They said they were gonna do it, so hopefully stuff is in the works. Like you could release a Fire Emblem Musou and get people excited before mainline Fire Emblem. That was how it was supposed to be with Hyrule Warriors and BotW, but that got moved for NX/Wii U.

No. The core srpg gameplay is pretty much on par with a bad entry in the genre from 20 years ago.
The game is an abomination in every possible way, from gameplay to plot to graphics to pacing and so on. I can't think of a worse srpg in the last 10 years.

yeah. people hated it and i watched some videos and it looked like dogshit. like if you want a time waster that's enjoyable, i'd get stella glow. it's not super deep mechanics, but a lot of people enjoyed it.
