Does Dark Souls worth checking out? I see this hype and I don't get it. It looks like a generic fantasy game (like Skyrim, to be honest), which said to be hard. What made doom awesome was the great level design with tons of varied monsters and weapons. Varied in the sense that every monster did a very specific thing and every gun had a very specific strength and weakness. In nuDoom you can upgrade a single gun and run through the game just using that gun because it will be good in any situation. Most enemies are very simmilar to each other as well. Level design is non-existent, you just get to an arena, fight waves of monsters then run to the next arena. The game is not bad, but nothing like Doom and definitely not as fun, so if you want doom because you liked the original then you will be dissapointed. Imho nuDoom is much more similar to the new shadow warrior than Doom, while I would say nuDoom is a little better, you can get shadow warrior for 3.50 and have similar experience.

I already did beat both 2 and 3, getting all achievements for the latter except the coop ones cause tfw no friends.
2 was definitely a different tone from 3 and I can understand why many people say it's the best in the series, but that didn't stop me from enjoying 3 for the CUH-RAZY route it took. I usually laughed at anything Zimos said for example.
Like I said, the complete bundle includes both 2 and 3 which I already own, but it's still cheaper than getting IV and GOoH on their own.
