How did they get away with this?
>>
I tried sparing them, they just charge you once you lower your weapon.
>>
>let him go

I wish devs weren't such pussies to include grey AI behavior like an enemy truly fleeing the battle after he's been subdued by the player, perhaps even getting shot at by his angry buddies for attempted desertion

>perhaps even getting shot at by his angry buddies for attempted desertion
Don't see why they would, they're just common bandits not the freaking Red Army

Agree on the first point though.

if you could actually let them go then it would be 10x more controversial that you even have the option of executing them in the first place, and they would have to censor it out of the game.

it's not ND's fault. I'm really surprised they were even able to give you the main game uncensored over there (are you sure it's totally uncensored?).

if they didn't get up and charge at you 100% of the time without exception, then you could never claim that executing them (as they plead for their lives) was justified as some form of preemptive self-defense; it would be just be cold blooded murder. There is no way in hell they could get away with having it like that, even in the American version of the game.

Also, people only care about nudity in the US. In most of the rest of the world, they censor violence over nudity

people don't plead for their life as you kill them in GTA5, they just run away screaming or crouch on the ground moping. In GTA4 they sort of do, I remember a pedestrian saying "Don't shoot! Don't shoot!" as I was shooting him on a single occasion in 2008 (when playing the game on 360 at a friends house). I never heard it again when I got the game myself.

puts it, thats what makes games compelling, the choices. the interaction, the personal sense of story telling in TLoU in particular is the only saving grace (as you could construe that Joel kills everyone ruthlessly cause he "has to for Ellen Paige" or whats her face. Like he does come the fuck on this game is old, he kills everyone for the girl

I mean, in any game, TLoU, Skyrim, Fallout, etc, I want the option to spare lives because that makes killing feel powerfully unnecessary, and makes times when you MUST attack feel special. Kinda like having the option to RUN in Pokeman. You didn't have to fight every fight as if you were blood thirsty.

No, it wasn't. The logs implied they'd cut open a bunch of other immune children in the past to no success. Even if somehow they WERE able to make a vaccine from Ellie, the Fireflies have no means to mass produce the vaccine nor any means to DISTRIBUTE said vaccination. They were virtually wiped out in every DMZ they came from.

And the vaccination still doesn't remove the fuckbillion clickers/bloaters that are already out there and laying seige to towns. Even still, the vaccine would only prevent you from turning -- it doesn't make you immune to getting your fucking throat ripped out.

Fireflies were literally not doing anything other than trying to make themselves feel better. The world was already over a long time ago and there's no unfucking it at that point.

I always wondered about the knife thing too but figured it was for gameplay balance due to the crafting mechanic and even the crafting boosts. I look at the one use shiv as a hastily cobbled together, while under fire, last resort which is why it breaks easily.
>>
>>342589701
iirc Ellie was a better case than the other kids, so maybe they would have failed but they had a chance to succeed
They had no means to mass produce the vaccine but they could have gotten more power gradually just by proposing vaccines in exchange of manpower or stuff like that. There'd still be criminals but I think lots of people would regain hope and collaborate if a vaccine existed.
For the remaining infected, it's hard but their numbers would cease growing and after a lot of time, they might have been able to eradicate them all or at least in some parts of the world.

Basically, the surgery would have opened a path. A hard and long path, but it'd have been something big. For one life, you can potentially save at the very least thousands.
>>
>>342589959
>for definitely killing one person we have a chance to maybe if everything goes right, vaccinate people that ultimately still won't prevent their death at all, but just prevent them from turning into mushroom people

Sometimes you have to take tough decisions. A vaccine would probably save at least thousands of people, because it's very unlikely people wouldn't care about it, they lose a lot of men who get bitten so they'd see the utility of having a vaccine. When you're vaccined, infected aren't that bad, unless you're bitten at the head you can survive and get treated.

I'd say it's a necessary wrong.

The one thing I liked about Remastered, was that Photo Mode was so broken you could use it as the Listen Mode they took out of Grounded. You could pan out really far and see the whole area around you. I only learnt about this around halfway through, but boy it helped.

>>342591531

I was very conservative with my shots. I fucking hated this bit because I could've counter sniped him as well, but the game made me rush through several enemies and get to him in one go. I was also super low on health (as you can see in that webm and this) so any hit kills me no matter what.

I eventually did it, and wasted a kit when I didn't need to since it ends the level after this.

I mean, something other than just an unmanned gun. Come on, Druckmann.

I hated that bookstore, fucking 15 people to take out, and they spawn two more upstairs if you take out everyone upstairs, then downstairs. God, must've taken me 3 hours to get everyone Grounded. Sounds fun though.

>>342592190

I don't know, I heard there were problems moving it to the PS4, but who knows. The game might've been like this the whole time but no one had a chance to record it. Thanks Share Button.

>>342592197

Their AI is shit like "If you hold someone up with no ammo, and shoot them. They instantly know you have no ammo and attack" and such. Nothing that impressive.

Nigga you really have shit perspective, compared to this shitshow, ESRB is a fucking blessing, yeah they aren't perfect and force companies to not be risque with their box art/advertising but they have never actually forced people to censor games outside of pornography/snuff film level violence

After a while I got it down to a tee. You take out the three guys outside, go to the left of the building and up the stairs. Take out the five guys upstairs going right from the door until you get to the stairs downstairs. You go down, take the two guys out near the lockers. There should be around 5 left at this point. They're usually scattered, and you'll have to get lucky to not be seen. Thankfully I was able to get them easily.

>>342592501

I never really messed around with the AI much in U4. I just played and finished the game. The only thing I did was drive off the small bridge and everyone would die in the car even though the height was barely a storey.

For all of how /v/ shits on TLoU, I have to admit that Winter was one of the best experiences I've ever had in gaming. The fact that Ellie can't easily melee everyone to death and has like no fucking weapons in the middle of a blizzard as she was being hunted was stressful as fuck. Then there's the entire fight with David which was insanely tense. By the end of the chapter, I actually had to turn off the game and take a breather.

That would be cool.
If you just easy shoot them.. then have them mad and attempting to attack.

Blow them the fuck up with explosives and choppem up with machetes and hostage shooting them with shotguns.. make em flee.

>Less shootan
If you start shooting them before they run, maybe they start shooting back and you have your wanted gun fight.

Maybe have it so.. if you DONT and they run away... they mass a bigger NEXT group of enemies.
Or maybe have them try to ambush you at the next area or something, switch it up so everybodies games get a little different.

Something similar happened to me.
I didn't notice the window and went for the fire escape. I didn't go down the stairs and just hid right next to the door to fight back. And then, every single NPC inside the bookstore charged at the exit but they went past me and ran down the stairs as if I weren't there.

Maybe they were scripted to chase down a player that tries to escape from the place.
>>
>>342599112

It's a shame I never recorded it, but clickers can actually hide behind corners waiting for you.

If you startle a bunch of them, and they'll run around trying to look for you. They know where you are, but the game has to lie to you to make you think they don't.

When you're split from Ellie, and you're with Sam and you have to go past the Clickers. I got pissed dealing with them and wanted to rush in and startle them. When I did I ran past a pillar and was instantly killed, even though there was no clicker to be seen.

I did the same thing again, and went into Photo mode. The clicker was hiding behind the pillar, waiting for you to pass so it could kill you.

Some older games like Perfect Dark and SiN totally had surrendering NPCs that you could execute and those games incidentally had pretty strict ratings.

Friendly reminder that Modern Warfare 2 had an out-and-out terrorist level where you can kill dozens if not hundreds of civilians as they run away and scream, and they got a standard M rating.
