I'm liking the game. It's like Persona without the social padding. Within 10 hours I've cleared the tutorial dungeon + 2 real ones, whereas it usually takes me a whole day to get 1 dungeon / block + school stuff cleared in Persona. That's how much time the social shit padding adds. It's a great game, men. Just be sure to put ito n Hard. Normal is definitely on the easy side.

there's not much idol stuff in this game, you get a sequence once in a while of a performance and some battle mechanics are based on it, and of course the story has ties to the idol industry everywhere. But there's no actual idol stuff you have to do as the player.

Other than Jack Frost / Black Frost, no. And they hardly count as it's more of a company mascot than anything. There are more references to FE than SMT. The only thing similar to SMT that I picked up, and it's a rather obscure one, is a mechanic. Weapons work like Nocturne's Magatama. That's the only SMT thing I've found. I don't count any of the Persona stuff as SMT.

Uhh, it's kinda non existing within the gameplay. The idolshit is only a frame for the setting. You don't have to take part in social events to brush up your dance or singing moves because that kind of stuff doesn't exist. This is solely a dungeon crawling / combat game. So far as I've seen the main character is pretty reluctant over the idolstuff anyway. He's supportive of his friends, but he has no desire to do any of the idolshit.
