Not really. 3.5 has 'clearer' rules and much more opaque interactions between them, which has a much worse effect on the game. Unlike 3E, which was intentionally filled with trap options, I can trust most things in AD&D to do what the game says they do.

Golems in 3.5 have 'spell immunity', which you think should make them immune to magic period, right? So you'd think they're supposed to be really good at shutting down spellcasters so that Fighters could shine, right?
It's actually infinite spell resistance instead of true immunity, which, in combination with their absolute fucking shit saves, leaves even the most dangerous golems vulnerable to Wizards with level 1 and level 2 spells that ignore spell resistance entirely like Grease and Glitterdust, both of which are EXTREMELY powerful spells at all stages of the game. And on the other hand? They're an absolute nightmare for a Fighter to deal with, between the the large amounts of DR they get, the large amount of damage they do in melee, and the decent HP/AC.
MoTB was alright except for the fucking water dungeon and the final chapter

heck wizards aren't even hindered in pure damage dealing against supposedly magic immune enemies given conjuration got a crapload of direct damage spells, GOOD direct damage spells at that, which flat out ignored spell resistance
that was honestly one of the biggest issues with magic in 3.x, the desire of the creators to do away with literally every single negative aspect of spellcasting by introducing the "spell for every occasion" or the concept of concentration.
Also sort of hilarious is that the only melee classes that don't have issues with golems are the ToB ones
