In TF2 you could carry a team. Not so here; on either attack or defense if you're grouped with idiots that don't know how to push, or self-centered jackasses that go Genji and refuse to counterpick then the other team will pound you into the dirt.
The encounter design leaves a lot to be desired too.
If you kill off the entire enemy team you're free to capture the point/push the cart unmolested. The game encourages you to build ultimates and instagib the enemy, then focus on objectives; rather than co-ordinate fights around the objectives themselves. It's why maps like Hanamura and Volskaya are so shitty: if you cap one point you have all the momentum and the Defense team is fucked- but God help you capping that first point because they're a clusterfuck of chokepoints and blind corners.
