Yesterday day I had a rad run with Lilith where I got car battery, Godhead, and transcendence among other things. That was lots of fun.
I think my favorite item is Godhead, followed by death's touch. My favorite underrated item is probably the black bag of ash.

Afterbirth Lost starts with Holy Mantle (after donating a certain sum in greed mode iirc), coupled with the fact that you get devil deals for free he's not even all that hard anymore. Like, still hard but not the undoable bullshit challenge he was in vanilla rebirth.

I've tried so hard but have yet to find a strategy that consistently works for avoiding those.
They're so random how they bounce off each other that you can't tell if it's safer to stand at the door or run to the middle.

How to get any item you want in no time flat -
Get the D20 in greed mode (which is in the shop pool so restart like 5 times and you should get it instantly in the first shop)
Kill an entire floor without picking up any cash, then use the D20 on the coins to get like 30 random consumables
Open all the chests, grab a battery, reroll all the consumables, open all the new chests up, grab a battery, reroll, repeat till you got an infinite amount of cash, and any consumable you could desire like perthro runes, 2 of diamonds etc. Or buy cards from the shop or whatever.
Then buy items from the infinitely restocking shop, buy whatever you want, quickly you'll come across chaos - part of the shop pool, to get items from any item pool you desire - and blank card - which speeds up everything like crazy if you just blank card a 2 of diamonds repeatedly and get infinite money without even walking from room to room by buying batteries from the restocking shop, or using blank card + perthro to reroll all the items from the pedestals that amass during your shopping spree.
Eventually every single item you've unlocked will show up at some point. Now for an item like mega, which is both a devil room item AND a special item (which has a smaller and smaller chance to be rolled into each time depending on how many special items you've already seen, and you burn through the item room special items first in no time with this method), you will still have to roll for a bit, eventually everything defaults to breakfast cause all the pools are exhausted, but it's guaranteed to come sooner or later. You can for example speed up the reroll process by getting more item pedestals into the shop by getting a couple of judgement cards, playing the beggars and making them spawn more items.
Granted, this whole process can easily take a couple of hours but it's absolutely foolproof and you'll get all those pesky items that you couldn't grab so far in one single go

That was legitimately the last thing I did in afterbirth, and probably one of the things that took me the longest out of all the things in Isaac, pre-afterbirth Lost not withstanding. Supposedly you can just get amazing items and ace it easy but it wouldn't happen to me, god that challenge sucked.

I usually die on other characters because enemies deal bullshit chip damage to kill me over time, but the lost prevents that.

Man I still don't know how but I feel like I kinda cheated the game into giving me those notes. It was like the first or second Keeper run I ever did, shortly after unlocking him, and in one single run I would do boss rush, it lives, hush, isaac, blue baby, AND mega satan. By just amassing ridiculous damage, piggy bank / swallowed penny and holy mantle or whatever protective items you can think of, and getting Dad's Key on the chest to top it all off. So just the lamb route left to go, greed mode was free anyway, and it's like I just got to skip all of the keeper stuff.

I had a insanely good run going, had Tech X and ridiculous damage that would kill everything in one hit but it took a ridiculous amount of time to charge because it's the fucking keeper. Polycephalus went underground offscreen, had no idea where the fuck he was (I didn't even know I was facing him), he popped out and hit me twice in a row before I could charge my attack. Had a fuckload of coins scattered all over the place too. I'm still mad.
