In 10 years game design schools will teach Battleborn as a game ahead of its time that was dramatically underappreciated. We who fought on the front lines will remember it as the awesome effort it was, and know that the people who write history books don't know everything.

It will be a reminder to not release a competitor to a blizzard game the same time blizzard releases their game. If they had held onto the game and released it a year later it would have done a bit better I think.
I'm just thankfull that Gearbox developed Battleborn, the game is full of love to the details, every important part of the story missions has up to three different voice-overs !! There are voice-overs i heard the first time after playing for weeks, the comments of the sentrys in incursion are awesome .. in the german version they sing the refrain of this popular german song ( they altered the first word of the refrain to make it funny ) -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkUd_rHTp1M4 , just go there listen , i couldn't believe when i first heard it, i also made a clip on Xbox Live look for "maledicus GER" and search my clips.
There is so much more i could say about all the positive features and love to detail .. but i 've to stop at some point :smiley:

Battleborn has a lot of potential with its cast and setting, but they decided to make a MOBA. Nobody wants to pay $70 for a MOBA because MOBAs are inherently garbage.

It ran into the same design problems that SMNC did. MOBA players don't care for shooters, and shooters don't care for MOBAs. Should've been primarily a Hero Shooter with light MOBA/Tower Defense elements.

No, it won't. Gearbox is like a Saturday morning cartoon villian. No matter how stupid their plan for world domination is, and no matter how hard it fails, they can't really die. All they can do is come up with a dumber plan for next week, like making an mmo or a kickstarter

It would be fine if the game was consistent, but the first two levels are the only ones to have dialogue, no really, bosses talk to you, each character has unique dialogue or even whole conversations. The rest of the game's awful escort/defense wave missions just have a talking head once or twice.
It's kind of funny that the game is alright but /v/ seems to hate it for the most superficial reasons while its actual flaws are ignored.
