Just got the MGS HD collection for Vita.
What am I in for?
Should I start with 3 first?
>>342445604
did you play MGS1? If not, turn that shit off and go play it. If you have, play 2, then 3, then tell yourself that the series ended well enough and never think about it again
>>342445604
>Vita
I have a vita too anon but why gimp yourself? that shit don't work well on Vita. Anyway >>342445760
has it perfectly.
>>342445760
>missing out on peace walker and MGSV
why should OP do that to himself?
>>342445760
I played MGS1 last year on a PSP>>342445831
If I greatly enjoyed MGS1 on a PSP I'm perfectly fine playing on Vita.
>>342445760
4 is better than 2 until the very end
>>342446117
spoken like a true pleb, I bet you think the final fight against Ocelot was good, too
>>342445831
>that shit don't work well on Vita. Anyway
It runs at 60 fps in interiors and 30 fps in other areas it's pretty decent for a port.
Don't listen to them start with metal gear and metal gear 2 they're worth it.
>>342445604
If you enjoy the ending of 3 don't play shit walker
>>342446312
>he doesn't think the final fight against Ocelot was good
get off my board you plebian
>>342445760
Not OP, but Im almost exactly at that point. I've only played 1, 2, 3, and Rising. I watched the peace walker movie on youtube. Outside of that, I haven't had anything spoiled for me. Should I keep it like that or is it worth $120 for a ps3 and MGS4?
>>342446573
Should I start with MG? I already played 1 and 4
>>342446323
Except that wall-hugging is outright broken in many spots.
What are Snake Tales, are they good? What about VR missions should I bother with those?
>>342446323
It runs and looks fine, but as >>342446913 said, the controls suffer greatly from the missing R2/L2, R3/L3, and pressure-sensitive face buttons.
They had to rework the controls in a way that made it actually impossible to perform certain maneuvers you could do on the original. They also relegated a lot of fairly important stuff to touch screen gestures (which have absolutely no on-screen prompts, so you either read the manual and memorize all of them or end up never doing them at all).
If OP can, I really recommend getting your hands on the PS3 versions and play those primarily. You can cross-save your files with the Vita version to take it on the go.

Those are really difficult bonus non-canon missions that you should save for after you beat the game. Just play the main game first.
>>342446709
I'm not the one fooled into eating shit just because it plays the snake eater theme when you bite into it
>>342447145
Snake Tales are these mostly silly non-canon sections and are really just for fun, they're interesting, but frustrating at times. VR missions are great for you to see the scope of 2's metagame. Playing the VR missions isn't a must but the game becomes a different experience after going through them. It might be best to just play the main game first, though.
>>342446751
>is it worth $120 for a ps3 and MGS4?
if there aren't any other games you want on it, it really isn't.
>>342446628
Peace Walker is fine, just ignore 5
>>342448440
I'm getting Peace Walker HD to play with a friend
