The game booted up and I was presetend with a tutorial, HOWEVER there was a prompt saying I would recoup my weapons/warframes once I finished it.
I did finish the tutorial, killed the boss, put the ship modules in place and was told I was "free" to do whatever I wish now. BUT I didn't get shit back.
Ash, Nyx, Nova, etc aren't unlocked, neither are Twin Gremlins which I recall playing with quite a lot

Go to recruiting chat, you should easily be able to get into groups there. Then just do void defense and survival missions, because those have the potential to give the most prime parts per run. Trading the parts for platinum shouldn't be too difficult to do either, plus there's always rare mods that you can trade if no one wants to buy whatever parts you have.
And as a last resort, you can go to region chat and say how difficult it is to get platinum as a new player, and then you'll probably get some Mastery Rank 20 guy who wants to give you platinum for free. Veteran players seem pretty keen on buying new players free stuff.
