the homogenization issue was only there for a few classes, what they've done in legion was an extremely lazy way to solve that problem by changing things for the sake of change instead of expanding upon the specs to actually make them different.

Proffesions matter early on, you will actually need to skill your proffesions just to keep up with questing, gearwise. Low and mid tier dungeons is actually challanging, ppl need to know how to utilize their class with offensive, defensive and supportive spells and skills. 1 fuckup May cause wipe. You don't have the shitty dungeon finder, you actually communicate with people. Just pick a vanilla private server, the top 5 is bugg free more or less.

Yes and no. It's a lot toned down compared to Legion. All it is is essentially a gating mechanism for your class story quests, and many of the missions require you to actually go out to some palce where you meet your followers and do a quest together.
Order halls are just hubs to upgrade/change your artifact/pick up new class quests. No sitting around like in Garrissons, Dalaran is the main city hub and world quests are the new filelr content/dailies, and those are mostly worthwhile.

Some of them aren't cosmetic though, a couple of those pets are genuinely good in pet battles. The pet you get with deluxe/collector editions of expansions are almost universally good and high-tier.
