Anyone hit themselves when losing in a game? I've hit myself hard enough to draw blood a few times. I usually only get that pissed when playing a MP game and get killed by another person and not AI

No, you'd have to be autistic to not control your emotions like that.
>>
>>342377275
I just have anger issues.
>>
>>342375456
I used to do it a lot as a kid.
>>
>>342375456
I only hit myself in the head. I usually stop playing when my anger gets bad though.
>>
>>342375456
They most I'd ever do is putting the console/controller down and staring at the wall for a few minutes.
>>
Caleb, just put the controller down for a while and go outside. Megaman X will still be there when you get back.
>>
>>342375456
Congratulations you have severe classical autism.
>>
Overwatch makes me rage like i haven't raged since i was 8. I thought i had this behind me
>>
No, I rage occasionally and have gotten so mad I went blind (and on rare occasions lose consciousness), but it costs too much to replace shit to break anything.
>>
>>342375456
I punched my laptop screen recently. But I also quit smoking 4 weeks ago, so that might have had something to do with it. I haven't had any other kind of violent reaction to vidya.

Threw a controller at a wall once, but I was like 7 and throwing a tantrum about something unrelated.

>>
>>342378543
I'm not OP, but that is exactly true. I don't understand what you're trying to say.
>>
>>342377330
Always wary around people like you. I just cannot understand otherwise normal people who can't control their anger. Shit baffles me.
>>
>>342375962

Seek help before you hurt somebody.

>>

Cold turkey? I need to quit this summer. Almost 30 and it's killing me.
>>
>>342378754
I am saying that the statement is not true, obviously.
>>
>>342378821
That sounds worse than not being able to control your anger.

It's not hard to understand that brains work differently and some have faults others don't have. I'd rather have anger issues than be stupid.
>>
I'm not retarded, so no.
>>
I have a mute little brother so I just take it out on him. Mostly just hit him on top of his head so you can't see the bruises lol.
>>
>>342379152
Well you're wrong. Passion is pretty much based around emotion and feeling, and emotional outburst are far more common when one is passionate about something. Like when a song makes someone cry.

>>342378982
Yeah. Partially because I finally did the math on how much I was spending on cigarettes and refused to spend any more money on it. It's not easy, and I think I'm gonna need to get some gum or soemthing. My temper is notably shorter and it's difficult for people to be around me. Most of the people who have to be know I'm quitting and are being understanding about it. So I'm lucky with that.
>>
>>342375456
I hit my thigh with an open palm, I just whine a lot when I'm mad in an online game. I haven't broken anything since my CoD4 days on the 360.
>>
>>342375456
Yeah, but I also bite myself pretty bad too. I have several scars over my arms. Pretty embarrassing, but it's the only way to relieve anger.

>occasionally slam my hand on my desk in frustration
>desk is cheap and old, getting more and more wobbly with time
>know deep in my heart that one day I'm gonna slam my hand
>and it's gonna collapse
>and in that moment I'll go completely insane with rage and rip the clothes off my body and smash myself through the window and fall to my death screaming racist obscenities all the way down
>>
>>342379181
Don't call me stupid, that's not nice. Getting angry when you're alone is fine. When I'm golfing with a group of coworkers speaking in normal tones and a guy snaps in a second after a bad shot, screaming and beating his club into the ground I find it uncanny in the extreme.
>>
>>342379687
Learning to control your emotions is one of the most important aspects of maturity.
>>
>>342379819
Well then don't say stupid things.

>>342379907
Cool story, bro. Wanna say something relevant?

>>
>>342380317
Point is being passionate about something doesn't mean you have to lose your shit over the smallest things, and even if you do you're still expected to control yourself not to break stuff or even hurt others.
>>
i once punched myself in the balls so hard i threw up when i died in csgo

>>
>>342381090
And not everyone can control that. It depends on how invested they are in whatever it is they're doing/experiencing. You don't have to be mature to be passionate, and no one ever said anything about maturity. Remeber you're on a video games board. Where, exactly, are you expecting maturity?

Not to mention that OP was talking about a game he's playing on his own and some guy mentioned a group of Co workers and you're mention being around others. How are these things at all relevant to what happens when you're alone?
>>
I haven't hit myself but I have smashed the fuck out of equipment before

Usually only do that when I'm alone and can get away with it, when people are around I usually keep it to just yelling

come to think of it to any sensible person I act like a fucking deranged mental case when I'm alone
>>
>>342381621
>And not everyone can control that.
Then they are immature. You can be passionate about something and not be a fucking retard.
>You don't have to be mature to be passionate,
And you don't need to have autism and freak out to be passionate either
>and no one ever said anything about maturity. Remeber you're on a video games board. Where, exactly, are you expecting maturity?
All irrelevant. Point Im making is that passionate =/= losing your shit and harming yourself like a retard
>>
>>342379793
I wish I died that way.
>>
>>342382236
Sounds like you just get off insulting people on the internet. How ironic that you're attempting to champion maturity.

There is no reason to control emotions when you're alone. Emotional buildup can lead to outbursts, even for people who think they're mature. Also ulcers. That's a medical fact. So you might as well let it out when you're alone.

This is the last (you) you're getting. You clearly have no argument to stand on, and this is borderline shitposting. Cheers, m80

I've never felt the need to get angry at a video game. If I'm not enjoying myself, I'm not going to keep playing.

This might be why all my equipment rarely fails on me. I've had the same keyboard for nearlly 20 years now, never needed to replace a controller and have only replaced my mouse once when the scroll wheel was worn so smooth it lost it's grip. The only game related thing I broke regularly are PS1 jewel cases, which might have been made of the finest crystal for how flimsy they were.

Not me, but my friend and I used to play civ 5 back on 2011. He had an older brother who would pay mp games with us, and he would get pretty pissed.
>Friend gets great library before his brother
>Brother begins to get angry
>Later on, friend settles his cities next to a bunch of resources his brother wanted
>Brother seething with rage now
>Friend refuses to trade with his brother
>finalstraw.jpeg
>Over the Skype call, hear brother thing to friend's room
>Hear him beating the shit out of brother and yelling and screaming
Not really sure what happened afterwards, friend never told me.
>mfw when I heard friend brother flying up the stairs to beat his ass
>>
when I was a teenager I used to punch the screen on my cheap CRT TV. I'd hurt my knuckles so bad that I'd instantly forget what I was mad about

Other times I'd hit the TV with the controller in kind of a pushing motion. That was really dumb, about 1/3 the time the controller would break.

The TV was perfectly fine. I havent raged that hard in years
