Do the campers have multiple points on the map where they can mount some sort of end game on Jason?
I remember the LJN Fri 13th game, you had to get certain things to progress against him in that one.
It wouldn't work if building talismans or some Jason-defeating devices were only in one spot because the player could camp out and defeat anyone who tried, but if there are too many areas for Jason-camp to happen, then it would make something worthwhile as far as the campers' end goes.
Even a buildup of some sort of power-up to combat the guy in-game would be good.

I think levels based on the movies could be pretty cool.
Boats, Manhattan, a hospital, the Camp, even a spaceship.
Perhaps a minigame level where if you fail to kill people you get to track them down in a randomised map like pt2 (or was it pt3?).
Varied and input-sensitive movesets could be cool.
Different combos could do different things, and you could even add a Hadouken as an easter egg.
