You could play with a machine's pseudo-immortality, but Blade Runner also touched on an android's death.
You could take a man made into an android and play with whether he's still the same person, but then you get Robocop.
...Maybe an android built by 'the company' is always being monitored by them, down to its thoughts and feelings, so they can bring it in if it starts to 'malfunction?' The fact that the character is a robot would almost have to be a twist then, as they grow more paranoid and realize they're being tracked.
