You can go straight to the Strip at the beginning of the game, by traveling to Sloan, going to Neil's shake, then sneaking to the boulder rolling valley with all the bear traps and the dead NCR trooper at the bottom. Just follow the yellow line. Go north from there and you're home free. Too bad you skip so many quests relating to finding Benny.

Does anyone have a batch torrent of a bunch of good mods? Ive installed and tried to mix and match but I always get overzealous and fucking something up somewhere. Ill always get greedy and add something mid run and fuck over my game. Im not totally inept and am able to run NVSE and such but I always go overboard. I have a legit copy but I dont mind if the torrent includes the base game too.
I have not played New Vegas in years, I tried to get back into it at several points this year and all last year, but no matter what I did, mods don't install properly anymore, don't show up in-game or the game crashes. The game would work fine unmodded.
Did they do something to the game in the final patch which effected the way mods work? I use old, possibly outdated mod installing/usage knowledge. The last time I played was not long after the final DLC was released.

Yes. Specifically they nerfed hand loads. Handload JSP .308 used to increase damage by 1.5 (50%). Now it increases damage by 1.3 and adds 1.5 weapon degradation. They also reduced the overall damage of the .308 weapons by 10 and reduced the critical chance multiplier on the sniper and gobi from 5x to 1x.

Service rifle is actually worse than the 5.56mm pistol and That Gun. Does less damage, with less critical chance. Really heavy, too. Any other 5.56mm weapon is better than the service rifle, until you get grunt. All-American outclasses the Service rifle by a wide margin at that point, though.
I would recommend the Bozar as a full auto option, but it isn't affected by Grunt, so fuck it. Light Machine Gun all the way.

I forgot what it was like playing with these messages modded out
whose idea was it to make armor so costly to keep in good repair? I always want to go a low caps build because I love the scrub phase but there's just no way to get around having to play 5k caps every two hours just to have armor. It's especially problematic right now because I went to OWB without any great armor and now have to rely on either Stealth Suit MkII (7k to repair from half cnd) or buying new Combat armors from the sink (4.5k a piece). it's not a fun mechanic you guys. I gotta get up to jury rigging.

F4 PA is godly, it works like a dream, you're tough but not so tough that you're invincible.
It has so much protection that damage done to you are practically tickles, but those tickles can still kill you if you're not careful, maintaining your armor is kind of fun.

You dumbass. DT is a subraction of damage. DR is a percentage multibplication of damage. 10 DT subtracts 10 damage from a 50 damage hit. 10 DR subtracts 10% of any hit. So a 50 damage hit will have 5 damage removed from it.

Well I looked it up on the wiki. They're much inferior to real power armour because they don't make it fine to move in. Essentially the armour is damn good protection but it won't help you move with the excess weight like a regular power armour would because of all the internal components that helped this have been stripped.
