I think Nintendo made the right choice with their E3 presence.
Sure, other conferences announced more games, but how many of those games did they actually SHOW? How many of them were actual gameplay? I can't think of a single instance during the Sony presentation, for example, that wasn't blatantly obviously scripted down to the last detail. And we all know at least 2 thirds of those games are going to look worse while running on the PS4 in your living room.
Meanwhile, Nintendo only really showed one game, but had well over 24 solid hours of actual gameplay, and, if anything, the finished product will actually look BETTER.
They only showed one game, but I'm actually more excited about that one game than anything else announced at E3 combined

Zelda looked boring, ugly and outdated, if it didn't have Zelda characters in it nobody would have cared.
With every generation that passes, I find that my bar for "nintendo games that impress me enough to buy the new system" gets higher.
Currently the only games that might bring me back are bayo 3, xeno 3, a new smash, or a really impressive 3D mario. Xeno 3 and smash definitely aren't happening soon.
