What keyboard and mouse do you use /v/?

Is memechanical worth it?

Do high end peripherals actually improve the quality of your experience? Does any old cheap shit do for you?
>>

>Keyboard
The Blackwidow 2014. I love mechanical keyboards, the feeling is pretty nice. Got it for sale so it was a no-brainer. I want a bulking spring keyboard, though.
It doesn't improve performance, but I can't go back to regular keyboards because they feel like shit. I would only recommend getting one if you have tried them before and like them.
>Mouse
The Elder God tier Logitech G600. This is one of the best investments I've done in my life, I don't know what I would do without it. It makes my experience several times better. I know it doesn't have the greatest sensor, but I'll take the 20 buttons over the sensor any day -I do actually use the buttons like a madman.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely, but it got more expensive and horribly difficult to find for some reason. I got it for ~80€ several years ago and it now goes for over 90.

All in all, leave the memes aside, only get this kind of stuff if you really feel you are going to use it. I have a friend who had one of these multi-button mice and mechanical keyboards, so I had tried them before, and I wanted them. I would not recommend getting these things without trying them out before.

I got a Rosewill Apollo RK-9100 mechanical and a roccat savu mouse.

They're pretty alright. I've had the mechanical for a year and a half, and the mouse for four / five years.

I like the mechanical cause I like to feel what I type. The mouse has a few macros and I like them for browsing without having to touch my keyboard or vidya gaymin.

Mechanical isn't worth it for gaming unless you're putting in like 8+ hours a day. The performance gans are entirely placebo effect. However, if you're coding or writing or doing something else that's going to require you to type a ton, you need a mechanical. Membrane will fuck up your joints in your fingers, wrists, and potentially arms after a few years.

I have a Ducky DKON1508S. I had five requirements for a keyboard. Blue key switches, simple backlighting, volume controls on the keyboard, no need for installing bullshit drivers and a full numpad. This does all of that and does it well.

Mouse is a Steelseries 300 Rival because I needed high DPI (fucked up wrists from using shitty keyboards for so long) and didn't need a lot of useless buttons. Razer products failed on me after only a few months, and this was the first I found that filled my requirements at a reasonable price.
>>
>here's your controller bro
>>
>>342163754
Mechanical keyboards aren't worth it for gaming. The only thing they offer over membrane keyboards while playing games is more pleasant feeling/sound, but you will completely forget about those things while focused. Unless you play multiplayer games with a competitive mindset, most any not complete garbage mouse/mousepad will service you fine. If you do play competitively then you'll definitely benefit from getting a good mouse/mousepad, although both of those don't necessarily have to cost a lot. You'll want to experiment with different mice/mousepads to find what works for you, you can also look up resources of what good players in multiple games use.

Both work great but the paint on the keyboard is peeling due to excessive use. I've never had a rubber dome keyboard die on me yet but when mine does, I'll try mechanical.

I just ordered this https://amzn.com/B00DOWCQ0I

It's my first mechanical keyboard, and I just wanted something cheap. Looking forward to it.

My mouse is pic related. I've had it for 4+ years and I've had no problems with it.
>>
I bought a Logitech G710+ a year back when it was half price on local store. The only real difference to my 10€ keyboard is that the lights on the buttons are nice so I don't have to guess where the map and inventory buttons are when playing wasd games in the dark.
>>
>>342164614
I agree compretery about the mouse. It's great, it's great if you game (I play mmorpgs...) but also great if you do work so you can attach macros and shit into those buttons. It feels great in your hand. I recommend cleaning the mouse every day couple of times with washlets / alcoholic wipes so the surface stays dry and crisp. Great purchase.

It feels heavy first and you'll probably need to adjust the sensitivity + customize the buttons of course but after you learn how to use it it's awesome.

I'd say a mechanical keyboard shouldn't really be high on the priorities list, but if you've got some cash to spare they're pretty nice. You can easily get a keyswitch tester for like $5-10 online if you wanna try the feel of different switches as well.

Yep. That's the Dell U3415W at 3440x1440. Disregard those who call it a meme, because 21:9 is good productivity wise, is a resolution that's practical to be driven by a single card, and that it's not too wide that it goes beyond your peripheral vision.

I never saw it as a meme, I always hated 16:9 and wanted more horizontal real state. Games look much more immersive than in 16:9 and current cards can actually run these resolutions. This is the kind of monitor that I've wanted since 2006.

First of all, why the hell do you care about other people? If you are in an office setting, then get the ones with more silent key switches if you have absolutely give a fuck about others.

Second, why is this even a concern given the usage scenario?
>>
>>342169305
Don't most not complete shit membrane keyboards go up to 6 key presses? There's not really any scenario where you'd be pressing more than 6. Only thing that might matter I think is being able to use ps/2 for improved latency, although I'm not sure if a convertor would work for that.

I have the same mouse, I find it retarded that I can't customize the thumb buttons like with Logitech mice.
>>
>>342169891
the whole idea of a "gaming" device is rather silly.

honestly it's better to just get a mouse and keyboard that you enjoy and will last a long time.
The only thing a good keyboard can do to help you in any meaningfull way is how mnay multiple key presses it has, so long as it has enough for you to never trip up while typing, the rest is either for your own comfort or aesthetic desire and serves no meaningful purpose.

but that would be obvious to anyone with a brain.
>>
>>342170678
There are pros that play on membrane still.

Even professional fgc commuters that play on really shitty peripherals still. It just comes down to what you like, I guess.
>>
>>342170995
yeah exactly, it's all up to your own personal prefrence, this is why if someone asks me what kind of mechanical keyboard they should get i'd tell them to learn about switch types first because the whole point of mechanical keyabords is what you like and want out of your keyboard, it's like reccomending someone shoes based on what you find comfortable, can't do it, has to fit them.

I've used a G15 since 2005, went through 3 of them. Recently my last one bought the farm. I was lucky to even find it, even though it was used. I got a good deal for it too because the person selling it couldn't figure out how to get the display to work. The thing finally started freaking out like all the others, mismatching keys, spamming certain keys. I just couldn't deal with it randomly cutting out on me anymore so I finally got a Corsair K30 and I nigger rigged the palm rest from the G15 onto it.

I looked for another one with a display, but they just don't make them like they used to.
