My favorite games
>>
The game that won the poll each time I opened the stream, i'd switch it up every hour depending on the gameplay.
I'd try to have a main game that I put YT vids of up as well as to base a schedule around.
>>
be born a girl
>>
I would just rip-off saltybet
>>
No commentary, no facecam, poll of several games. I want to be a stream some guy looks at on the xbone store stream tab when he wants to see how the game plays before he buys

I already do this and just play games with no facecam and whoever wants to come watch thats cool. Obviously you can't make any money if you're not trying to hit demographics and use marketing tactics or whatever the fuck, so who knows.

Twitch partners aren't wholly as cancerous as people making a living off Youtube, but it's starting to get there.
>>
>>342146228

>implying celebrity streamers get to play what they want

I would be stuck playing casual games or fotm meme games
>>
>>342146228

Whatever was popular, followed by something to set myself apart.

Probably with a significant amount of debasing myself including but not limited to:

>dying my hair on stream
>wearing stupid constumes
>e-begging
>pandering like a faggot to my subs/donators
>stopping the stream constantly to jerk off donators/subs

Basically it would be a horrible life. I'd rather stock shelves at a grocery store than debase myself to fucking retards for money.
>>
>>342147385
i think you mean non-celebrity

someone like lirik can play barbie's dream house for 20k people

>>
I'd re-stream a camgirl wearing a veil and use my mic to dub over it so it seems like she's interacting with the viewers
>>
>>342146228
Well I'd try to be a personality. Some people play whatever they want and people will watch them regardless. If I failed at that I would be forced to either carve out a niche or hop from fotm-fotm.
>>
>>342147384
Twitch is a much worse viewing experience than youtube.

>broadcaster stuck
>won't take advice
>won't read chat
>every single time someone tries to help get nailed with "NO BACKSEATING"
>Donation pop ups constantly
>Sub and follower pop ups constantly
>breaks
>overlays with shit like G2A and other just generally atrocious overlays
>gameplay always a sidething, since chat interaction is the most important

Twitch "culture" encourages an incredibly horrid viewing experience.
>>
>>342147765
>won't read chat

too bad my toaster prevents me from streaming anything.
>>
>>342146228

I wouldn't be one of those true heroes who get good at one game and stream it everyday like babayetu.

I'd mess around a bit more, but I'd probably return to a few games. Like some 4x, grand strat.

Right now I'd stream wc2 though. Couldn't get OBS to work for livestream so had to switch to twitch. I have a group of internet friends that have been streaming games and movies to eachother.
I think if you're making twitchbucks you tend to get stuck either doing that one game that gives you a lot of views, or you jump from flavor of the month to flavor of the month.
>>
>>342147868
Most streamers are real shit at keeping up with chat -and- playing the game. So it usually becomes:

>long periods of "catching up" with chat
followed by:
>long periods of gameplay with minimal reading of chat (usually only donations/subs/followers)
>>
>>342146228
JRPGs because I don't think there are many people streaming that.
No facecam, no subscriptions. People who want to watch could watch without paying and if people want to donate they could donate.
Would try my best on runs that aren't first playthroughs to do research and give interesting information throughout as well as showing off as much of the game as possible.
>>
>>342147765
Have 2500 subs since last night. Going pretty well. Only thing that is annoying is the fact that twitch takes a % from total donations at the end of each week now. Fucking jews I swear
>>
>>342146228
Dota 2 with my fail stack of shit friends

We're all bad, we all rege and get salty as fuck at eachother and everything around us. I think it could be entertainment worthy.
>>

>>
>>342148208

>>
>>342148397
I'll never understand willingly putting yourself through a shit experience like playing salty dota
>>
>>342148487
Yeah, I'm working on that.
I ask in every youtube thread if anyone knows why my Elgato software won't recognize my good graphics card because now its the one thing holding me back from getting videos made.
>>
>>342148610
Probably the biggest channel I'm aware of doing what you want to do is hcbailley. He seems relatively successful, might be worth stealing some ideas from.
>>
I'd love to stream, just as a passtime or something so I can actually interact with people, but

>Shit internet
>Lot of background noise that's out of my control, so no mic
>Not a fan of facecam, they just obstruct the view
>single monitor, so won't be able to watch chat and play at the same time

Doubt anyone would want to watch a no-microphone stream of somebody else playing something

I'd do a variety of things and try to do chat interaction with things like naming characters, deciding a path for games with multiple routes, etc.
I've honestly been trying to stream, I'm just incredibly bad at actually streaming.

>>342147765
>no backseating
Understandable to a degree. I'd want to figure things out for myself too.
Now if people wanted to give hints when I appear to be lost or stuck, that's cool. I just don't want someone to try to tell me how to play or to give away the answer.

It is nice to offload resources though. Especially in games that are especially CPU intensive like Skyrim.

By no means is it necessary most of the time though, I agree. I'd still like to get one though, since a streaming slave PC doesn't really cost that much to throw together.
>>
>>342150258
>Scared to openly invite cancer

There's no need to invite what's already there.

In reality, I'd just stream games I'm interested in without a facecam, and hope my shitty "humor" is entertaining. Maybe build a community if I get a decent amount of viewers.

Basically, what Vinesauce has been doing for about half a decade.

i have an old amd phenom 2 x4 955 system laying around

>>
>>342156274
I don't see why it wouldn't. You just wouldn't be able to likely use a slower preset for better quality in OBS because AMD CPUs aren't all that great compared to i7s for encoding.
>>
You have to become absolute cancer to even make chump change extra spending money. It's a service run on the backs of not teenage viewers, but pre-teenage viewers. Enjoy sculpting a """""character""""" out knowing that. It just isn't worth dissolving your soul over. Go work at McDonald's instead.

To go quote-unquote big time? Forget it. The time has passed. Get a sex change and literally flash your tit gap and sometimes cunt on stream and MAYBE you'll get some desperate Arabs or Russians to throw singles at you every now and then.

1440p is good

>>
>>342157857

then i can have transcoding all the time
>>
>>342157618
1080p is a waste, honestly. It's better using the bandwidth to get better quality 720p, especially for higher motion games.

3500 720p/60FPS with as slow as a preset in OBS your CPU can support is going to look noticeably better than 1080p/60FPS with the same OBS settings.
>>
>>342158296

I would stream games I enjoy with my friends, because no one wants to play games that they dislike. Id have a community of people I teach in the art of memeing. Then when they get edgy and cringy ill just act like I had nothing to do with it.
>>
I would partner with an internet person who already has some followers.
>>
>>342158432
If you're recording, you should either be using shadowplay or using a second PC with a capture card to get your gameplay recorded. Trying to record and play at the same time otherwise just eats up way too many resources to get a stable frame-rate and high quality video.
>>
>>342146228
I'd stream me shooting myself in the head because i was forced to be a clown for a living.
>>
>>342158784
I'm using an external capture device to record console footage.
>>
>>342158913
In that case you're going to be limited by whatever capture device you're using. If you can, invest in an internal capture card since they yield the best results. HD60 Pro can do 1080p/60FPS recording and is an absolute beast of a capture card. I love it to death.
>>
>>342158628
and write a script before recording so we could pretend we are making jokes and shit spontaniously
>>
>>342159163
Right now I'm on my limit in terms of budget.
I could capture 1080 if I got the thing working on a better graphics card, which I may already have but the software just won't detect it.
>>
>>342159169
and also make some returning gags and phrases to make our audience memeing.
>>
>>342159297
Then work around that limit. 1080p while nice isn't going to stop people from watching. Your editing, voice capture, content, and delivery are going to be far more essential to keeping people watching.
>>
>>342156782

>>
>>342167934
Its the best way to do it since you literally can't download streams with twitch, even if your the streamer.
Twitch is shit at that stuff.
People who miss the streams need a place they can watch them without the stream disappearing because it was too long ago.
>>
>>342157817
Would this apply to recording stuff for offline as well?
Just tried playtv for the first time and got seemingly no framerate loss as far as I could tell (although ArmA 3 online isn't the best for judging framerates)

>>342162802
being likeable and consistent.
If you're a likeable person, people will come back and watch you again, if your consistent they'll already know when you'll be streaming and don't have to guess when you will be.
People will eventually find you and maybe tell their friends and from their you'll steadily grow (you may hit some ceilings at some points where counts down go up, but you just have to keep at it)
The hardest part is getting past those 1-2 viewers and into the double digits
I might be talking out of my ass though since I've never streamed myself and don't watch streams much, but this is what I've gathered from reading these threads it seems logical enough.

>>342165447
>play obscure games
>no one watches you because no one knows about the game
It can work, but not in all cases. You'll also have to be streaming either quite often or for long stretches of time for people to actually look up said obscure game and notice you're the only one playing it, or hope that no one else is playing it so people will notice in the videos tab

>>342167934
No shit, streams are insanely easy to do, all you do is park your ass in front of a camera and play a game, it requires no further editing beyond creating a thumbnail for it on YT. It's a hell of a lot easier than putting together videos or even doing regular LPs by finding points where you can cut it
>>
>>342168531
no offline try to get the best youcan while keeping stable FPS
