I had to share a ps1 with my brother and it has been fine for the most part. But he used to not clean his hands after taking a shit and as a result shit was sometimes smeared all over the cds, console and controllers. Being young and poor was hell.

I hate it when people touch my devices/controllers. I always clean them when I'm alone after someone did so.
