Why do so many people hate the level design of Doom II?
I think it's far superior to Doom I. It has all these complex levels that loop around themselves, and they rarely fall into the trap of linearity that many Doom I maps fell into.
More challenge, more enemies, more monster types, more complex levels, and the motherfucking Super Shotgun. It feels so much deeper and more rewarding than Doom I, which is an incredible feat.
