Your choices were so narrow for the third perk slot that it made Martyrdom the perk of choice for most of the playerbase.
9 times out of 10 you don't need Steady Aim because the aiming reticles on SMGs was already retardedly small. Last Stand was never viable because even a quadriplegic could gun you down before you got a shot off. Eavesdrop is completely useless, as was Iron Lungs in most situations because the time you're given by default is already more than adequate to get an accurate shot off.
Activision have already said they're not rebalancing any aspect of the game when it releases again, either. Ebin!

Some of the mw2 mods were really great, my all time favorite has to be low gravity snipers only with laser sights
MW2 had the best gunplay and gameplay out of the whole series.
