How's the snes version of DQ V? I want to play the DS version but it seems there are no good emulators for android other than drastic, which costs money.

I'm not a minecraft fan either, but I really enjoyed Builders when I tried the Japanese demo. The quests and NPCs give you a purpose rather than just building shit "because", and it's really immersive to be in a town you built and is populated with NPCs that aren't just random NPCs but actual characters with names and dialogues.

Start with 1, 4, or 8. I recommend 1 the most because it teaches you a lot of the basics and takes the least amount of time. If you want the full experience, get the NES version. If you want to cut down on grinding, get the Game Boy Color version. The SNES version is okay, but if you like it and move on to 2, keep in mind that 2 has several game breaking glitches in it due to the translation patch. GBC is the most stable version.

No, Final Fantasy is anything BUT that. People just think that because FF1 came out in the states before DQ, but FF1 was aping DQ pretty hard because it came out 2 years later in Japan.
DQ was literally built from the ground up to be an introduction into RPGs by streamlining shit that was popular in PC RPGs. One thing that we take for granted is in the game, when we cast a spell, we get a sub menu. In PC RPGs back then, you didn't get that. You had to manually type in the name of the spell you wanted to cast.Good lord help you if the game was strict enough that you would waste an actual goddamn turn if you mistyped/misspelt.

Eh, may as well just retranslate it. Not sure how accurate the old translation is, it's kinda hard to trust old translations like that. Then again, FF I's translation was pretty accurate for the most part as far as dialogue goes. Spell item and enemy names were fucked though.
