It was the longest action game I've ever fucking played. They've pretty much stressed every single japanese mythology and you even explored the entirety of fucking japan.
There's NOTHING you could add to it, aside from making the gameplay harder.
Which in that case you might as well just remake Okami with more challenging gameplay and harder enemies

The game actually didn't delve very deeply into Japanese mythology, there were a lot of yokai, but it pretty much just scratched the surface. You could do a lot of interesting things, and using the excuse of Okami being in the Celestial Plains and Nippon developing to change up the world. Like imagine an Okami game, and this is literally me just making up a possible plot, where Okami returns to Nippon and it is now the warring states era, cities have expanded well across Nippon, and factions have split the country up, as the sengoku era was like. But Ammy discovers something is off, and the presence of Yokai is even greater than ever before. As it turns out, the generals of each warring clan has made a pact with demons, gaining their power and their forces, in exchange for spreading evil across Nippon via their armies, each general trying to gain dominance of the country for their patron. See, theres an idea that could be used, and I don;t even have the crazy mind of Kamiya
