According to their site it is behind lego avengers in popularity.
One overlooked problem is the shitty gameplay. Everything feels like they're bullet sponges. The big dude with the chaingun takes 5-10 seconds to kill anything with consistent fire, so the guy with the big gun that should shred through everything feels, and sounds like a peashooter.
SMITE is a 3rd person MOBA and teamfights in there last roughly 2-10 seconds. Get ambushed with a glass cannon character and you get deleted instantly. The game feels way more fastpaced than Battleborn and for a FPS-Moba hybrid to feel more sluggish than 3rd person Moba, theres some serious gameplay design problems in the game itself.

I was saying here for weeks that we were about to see something unprecedented: They'd probably hired 10 artists, and were going to have to make skins etc as fast as possible. To save this game, they'd have to make it free, and add a valve type shop with drop system. People who bought the game would get a huge amount of shop gold, like $100 worth.
Convert the game to fully f2p, with nothing paywalled, and let the system do its work. Slowly, over time, you will recover the budget of the game at least. 1000 players will grow to 10,000 and stay at least there.

The HUD is a mess, the game is often a complete clusterfuck and the unlock system kills the game completely, having to grind linearly for heroes is bullshit, if they're going to copy MOBAs and try and make a competitive multiplayer game they really should have made all the content available from the start.

Wildstar has the exact fucking same trajectory. Like, to the letter. AAA box price of sixty bucks for an MMO with a sub. Numbers dwindle due to difficulty and seeming errors possible due to getting rushed out the door at last minute.
They attempt 10 day passes, free weekends, box price drops, and after a year or so, they finally announced free to play, slowly switched to that, and then about 8 months after that, they do a steam release, and it's maybe going to survive. That's why I think 2K should fucking put some faith in their game and their devs, allow them to make it free to play to allow all users to play it and ascertain the difficulty and time required to learn the game. Once they get invested, they learn to love the lore, charcaters, etc.
I guarantee if they don't, we'll have a slow, 10-day pass filled, refer-a-friend bonus, extreme sale filled transition to free to play or cancellation. Servers cost money, and they need people playing to attract more players, so they can filter who will start pumping money into the game.
