If you don't think that the xbox controller is the best controller you are mentally challenged, its not about consoles, even if you use it for pc, the dualshock is not meant to be used by rational humans, they are carrying an outdated design just because they don't want to give in to the pressure of looking like a proper controller.

It's not, but the reason is the assumed hand position as has the thumb remain in the same position on either side of the control. One on the control stick on the left, while the right right thumb is free to use the face buttons.
Of course this ignores the fact that most shooters (which The Box is pretty much catered for exclusively) require you to keep both thumbs on both sticks majority of the gameplay, and that's before we start talking about left-handed users or repetitive strain your right your thumb gets playing combo heavy games.

It's just personal preference. I've always preferred the dualshock controllers, but again it's what I grew up with. Nintendo is too inconsistent to pick a favorite, the Duke was shit and the 360 pad was too heavy for my taste.

The position actually allows for better play in games though. The stick is still easy to reach and you can use your index finger to push necessary dpad commands without stopping movement.

Because its the least ergonomic. If you have small hands the triggers were to big and clunky if you had big hands forget about it at all. Z button was retarded size and position. C stick and dpad were useless. Buttons had no uniformity
I always liked the playstation controller better, but I only really play on PC. I use a wireless 360 controller for the few games where I need it. Its nice enough, but recently I got to hold a ps4 controller at a friends place and that shit was comfy to hold. The only downside was that weird slab in the middle. Shit kept doing weird things.
