Have you ever been sad after finishing a game because you enjoyed the experience so much, and you knew you could never experience it for the first time again?

What was the game, anon?

Nice pixelshit gif you fucking faggot.

Pretty much every game I've ever beaten.

I have a weird complex about beating games, so I rarely do unless it really draws me in, which more often then not leads me disappointing the whole thing is over.

Gets to the point where sometimes I just don't finish it at all. I've been just before the last boss in Luigi's Mansion for like six years.

why does a picture on the internet upset you so much, friend?
>>
Paper Mario 64
I spent an hour looking for a save block on my way to the castle
And then let the fireworks play on my screen for about that long, too, hoping there would be a hidden chapter or Twink coming back or Peach kissing Mario or something

Skies of Arcadia

Ookami.

Ghost Trick

Red Dead. I played it over the course of 2 years, and took big breaks in between, so when I finally finished it, it really felt like a long journey was finally over.

I didn't make a save before John died, so I was stuck playing as his annoying son for eternity.

Next time I do a playthrough, I'm saving right before John gets to the ranch, so he can live forever.

Dude holy shit finish the game did your mom die before you could say goodbye or something

Lisa The Painful RPG.
What a beautiful experience.
>>
>>342003467
Came in here to post it. I can't believe we haven't gotten any ports of it to more modern systems. I'd buy Skies of Arcadia for the 3DS in a second.
>>
>>342003672
Honestly it's mostly because I have ADHD and jump from game to game too fast to beat most of them. If I don't do it all in one shot, I go to another game and lose interest until I loop back around to that one by chance years later and Luigi's Mansion just hasn't looped back around in my attention span in a long time.

Skies of Shit was not a good game.

A lot of games.

I get more of an emotional reaction in games where you reach an inescapable "end-game" stage, especially if it sends you back to the hub or starting area and changes the scenery or weather or something ad makes everything all sombre.

One example that sticks with me is Conker's Bad Fur Day, when at the end you come back to Windy at nighttime and find the windwill at the center destroyed and everyone gone. Really fucked me up as a kid.

Do visual novels count as games? If so, Umineko crushed me when it was over.

Especially when I was spoiled, and never got to solve the mystery myself.

Super Mario 64

Played it over the course of like 3 years since the n64 was at our summer home so I could only use it a few months a year. Was the first major console game I had ever beaten.

The beginning of banjo tooie made me feel a strange melancholy because of the starting area being in a state of destruction, gruntys lair being caved in and such.

Don't even care if you call me a fag. I loved every second of it, and I can only hope that another game will touch me so deeply.

I'm like that with everything I enjoy, after I beat it, I lose sight of myself and can't figure out what to do until I eventually find something else to absorb myself in. VN's, games, etc.

Solatorobo. Twice.
I fell for the "fake end" and was fucking ecstatic after discovering the second half.

Probably just recently, Pokemon X
It was such a big world, with so many little things, the story was so fulfilling, and I was kind of sad when it became nothing else but the current pokemon game to have.
>>
Good story-focused games always have this issue for me like Ghost Trick, Ace Attorney series, 999 and Hotel Dusk. Doesn't apply to much outside of that because a game has to have a lot of replayability to be one of my favourites. Games which are only good for one playthrough are never satisfying.
>>
Baten Kaitos really hit me hard. It was just some really really good world building and characterization I guess. I think the game having a bittersweet ending also helped with the feeling of melancholy.

Oh and Ace Attorney obviously. Though that wasn't sad immediately after finishing it so much as it was sad when I replayed it and the magic just wasn't the same.

Demon's Souls was an adventure.

As an alternative answer: ever17. Could never find anything else like it.

I remember I tried that and I couldn't remember exactly when it starts forcing the last mission and ended up playing as jack again. At least I had a back up halfway through Mexico.

Oblivion. Tried it out after playing some of Skyrim (didn't finish). Explored every single bit of Cyrodiil.

That's what you get for buying and still playing Pokeshits in the year of 2016.
>>
>>342004528
Oh yeah that fucked me up too. Also the way everything changes and gets darker in Ocarina of Time when you become an adult. I think when I was that age I found it disturbing when any game reminded me about the remorseless march of time.

Yes, several.

In the last few years, Bloodborne (especially the DLC) and to a lesser extent Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 1.

A few SNES games (Secret of Evermore, Illusion of Gaia, FF6, and ALttP).

A few ps1/ps2 games, such as DMC3, Blood Omen, Skies of Arcadia, Xenogears, and a few others.

Quite a few really.
>>
Uncharted 4.

Despite how ridiculously repetitive the game itself, I still felt a connection to the characters. Plus, it just looked visually incredible.

But I've been sad when I try to play it again and instantly remember all the puzzle solutions and things I have to do.
