After Hammerfell comes out I'm sure we'll all be looking back on Skyrim and saying that it was a much better RPG than Hammerfell.
It doesn't achieve any of the things it wanted to
-There is main story
-It's bad
-There is voiced dialogue
-It's abysmal
-There are sidequests
-They're all the same
-There is melee combat
-It's awful
-Theres magic
-It's boring
-There are characters
-Literally can't remember a single one
-There is stealth
-Again, not good compared to any other game with stealth
The only thing Bethesda achieved with Skyrim is that they can make a very pretty fantasy enviorment. It's nice to walk around and the music is nice i guess, but it's a game at the end of the day, and the game is not good
I like it, but not because it's a good game. I don't play Skyrim, I use Skyrim to roleplay because I moved a quarter of the world away from my D&D group.
So I play in my head, is what I'm trying to say.

The only thing interesting about dragons dogma combat is being able to climb and cast big spells. Also, you fight the same 4 or 5 giant creatures throughout the whole game. Everything else you can do the witcher 3 does it better.

If you consider standalone dungeon and quest mods then yes. There's a lot of mods that overhaul the enemies themselves and the loot you get but I'm not sure if there are any that overhaul the layouts of the dungeon.

Rarely come to v, i stopped playing this game in 10 hours. I heard so much praise, so i really took a long time, trying to like it, but it just didnt do it.
Dungeons, after 1 you have seen it all. Travelling is boring, world is empty, tons of useless shit items which triggers me as someone who hoards. Leveling was weird and bad, you could just spam some spells to 100.. The story was really boring, quests were reaaallllly bad. Nothing interesting. Combat sucks hard.

I don't usually come to /v/ but I find quite the same flaws both on Skyrim and Fallout 3 and 4. The main stories of these games are kinda poor and stupid and there's so little weight to them in a world overloaded with sidequests that's easy to get lost and stop caring about the main story at all.
Like I should be caring about these dragons coming back to life and conquering the world but hey here I am becoming the director of a magic school or a deathly and sneaky assassin, or both things at the same time.
Sure the worlds are fun to explore for a while but then it gets so boring.
I prefer games where sidequests get unlocked as you advance in the main story, that have more weight on the main story, and where you actually have to choose between you character becoming X or Y or Z, and not all at the same time.
Tbh Fallout 3 was the best of the three and the only where I actually finished the main story.

It's a badly designed game and you realize this after you've already invested a lot of time in your character. Too much shit in this game slows you down and wastes your time with little reward to compensate you. You really don't feel like struggling through another draugr deathlord dungeon for an elven shield of fire resist when you can just sit in town and get OP with crafting.

I don't hate it, but it's a game I play for slow-paced comfy feels. The exploration and wilderness hunting is a lot of fun, but the in-game quests are pretty weak. It's also not the deepest RPG.
Despite all their problems, Bethesda games are still pretty much the best RPG modding platforms.
