Tanking is kind of boring and it's the role that gets fucked in the ass the hardest by having shitty teammates.
DPS is extremely boring and the dick-measuring damage meter contest is for retards and children.
Healing can be boring, it depends on how the developers design things like damage output of enemies and mana costs of your spells. When they get it right, it's fucking great (see: early Cata in WoW).

I don't know of a single player RPG where you can 'main a healer'. I play a healer in MMOs because I genuinely enjoy the job more than DPS or Tank. It also feels like you interact with people more than those classes. That being said, FFXIV was my last MMO unless Dragon Quest X comes out. I'm tired of the trinity system and raids.

Tidus is a healer now? I mean he learns moderate healing spells, but he's more of a Haste/Buff machine that also deals massive damage. He's closer to a jack of all trades like a Dragon Quest hero.
