Where did you hear that? All I've seen is that they're adding a new episode, re-recorded Duke's lines along with some new (bazinga) ones, and tried shoving new lighting effects into whatever engine this version of 3D is running off of.

IIRC the guys who developed the Rise of the Triad remake were originally developing a Duke 3D remake under the name of Duke Nukem 3D: Reloaded. I think Gearbox made them shut the project down.
