Haven't really played the game yet but is it really that bad?

Mirror's Edge 1 was a cult classic. Adding an open-world and collectibles turned off the few fans of the original, while still being too obscure for casuals to care.

As it turned out the number of ME fans is much smaller than their vocal fanbase would lead you to believe. EA fell for the meme and didn't realize this.
>>
It's just not as optimized or good looking as the first one that's all

A minority woman, as a matter of fact. Not that that's wrong, necessarily. But let's be clear.

apparently this game had been prototyped for several years until they zero'd in on a specific vision.

I beat it last night it's an ok game . Combat is still ass, sentinels are a retarded only kick them or you lose enemy. The world is big enough to just run around and be faith but for an open world there's nothing to do but trials and collect random things that are just there to do, provide nothing to the world except the voice recordings , it's a solid 7, if you like ME, 6 otherwise .

I loved Mirrors Edge but I won't be buying ME2.

Open world sounds awful and has no appeal to me.
Art Style looks significantly worse.
They didn't fix the combat, and from what I hear made it worse.
Its a reboot so I've heard, so as little as I cared about ME story, I care even less for ME2.

First one is the main reason though, I don't want an Open World game, I wanted Mirrors Edge 2, just more levels, advance the plot, fix up combat. It wasn't too hard.
>>
V aint the place to ask about this game, OP. As soon as the sjw meme was attached to it all the idiots who didnt play it came to argue politics and meme on the game Shit posting ine every thread.

Personally i enjoy it a lot. They brought back the speed runner created mechanics, Has everything i loved in the first one plus more. The running and combat afe fun. The running challenges are cool, and i like the user made challenges.

I like it, but it's largely unused potential. Obvious that development time was cut short. Characters are not interesting enough and relationships with them are shallow because of the pacing. Has the problems every open world game suffers from, including the collection bullshit that's reminiscent of infamous. Take that boring side stuff away and it's short as fuck too. Would've been better as a runner MMO in eye candy city.

I think it's the angle. I've seen shots of her that look fine, and some that are full mongoloid. Probably didn't put that much work into it considering it's a 1st person parkour game. Pretty much this. Open world was the biggest mistake.

>le op3n wurld meme again

The fears people had about open world ruining it never came true. Its a big open map but each area is unique, detailed and feels hand crafted for free running. Time trials and challenges everywhere you go.

There is also no focus on combat. They took guns out ffs. You can avoid every enemy.
>>
>>341880478

>focused on the story

Anyone who says they played the first one for the story is either lying or an idiot. You got a better clue of how the world worked from the environment details rather than any cutscene that ME2 has.

>Open world

ME2 being open world was a mistake. Maybe a multiplayer only mode would have worked like that but they really should have kept it condensed to the small linear levels.

Mirror's Edge had baked global illumination, ray tracing, and soft shadows pretty much everywhere. The lighting in ME2 is completely real time so obviously it won't look as good as even high end PCs have issues with real time GI and raytracing.

That's what devs get for raising expectations with prerendered garbage.

I don't know. For me personally, something about the very first trailers just felt unappealing and I guess I mentally wrote the game off and didn't even try to keep up with any news or trailers about it. Even so, really does feel like EA/DICE didn't put much effort into promoting it.
Or maybe like someone else said, the audience for the game wasn't as big as they thought afterall, and that's why there's no natural buzz about it.

I am surprised I havent even followed it since, only now I realised that the game disappeared from my radar entirely at that moment.

I am not even sure what played bigger role, the fact they eat out of her hand with all this BS about difficulty and proud womyn representation or just the fact that pathological liar and person who slandered people was there all cozy with devs like she has anything to do with vidya.

Of all the things said about /v/irgins her claims made me rage just because they were mostly made up and cherrypicked for the purpose of propagating her persona.

What exactly did Anita influence on ME2 that made it bad? Does open world = femnism now? Is it that the protagonist was an asian chick despite that being a thing back in 2010?

So she went to a studio that gave a talk and then they're instantly brainwashed? This is about the same influence as the developers just watched her youtube videos and agreed with it. She wasn't a consultant at the studio, she didn't make any choices on the project, and she didn't direct the game. Stop being a retard.

A lot of platforms obstacles are just there for the sake of being there and its slightly noticeable sometimes

I actually think if she had a chance to influence the game, the shit combat would go away, but, also, I think the populace would have responded negatively to the corporation.
Anita doesn't like violence, and she wants media to display capitalism successfully resisted against.

But EA thinks all games need to have the hitting, and they obviously are going to leave the game open for a sequel.

Although what I gather from the shift in marketing, is that at some point (probably the beta) they realized the game was a lame duck and stopped trying to market it.

Dont care anymore, after whole shitstorm that went down I lost interest in modern vidya industry.
Dont misunderstand, its not that I lost interest because "Anita is bad so I wont buy your games anymore, its more on subconscious level".

For whatever reason after being called misogynist by media, game devs, bloggers, random mob on twitter lead by Anita I just got this unpleasant feeling somewhere in my stomach when ever I think about modern gaming.
For some reason vidya started to associate negatively on some subconscious level so now I am playing mostly older games.

Feel kinda weird about it because I have hundredths of $ worth of vidya on my psn account and in discs on shelves, stuff I bought because I was enthusiastic, because there was nice box, premium version or because it was bargain and just thinking about them makes me lose interest in playing, feel almost guilty.
The effect is even stronger when I think about games that made by some devs that engaged in this progressive BS, like fucking Bioware.
This shit not even depends on me at this point, just strong aversion,
