I'm kinda sad that my nrain alaways pushes me toward trying to make the biggest city instead making somthing creative.
I dont even use any low density residential or commercial zones asap I unlock the high density ones.

It's not particularly complicated, you just have to remember that the goal is chopping the traffic up as much as possible and roads should have four tiers:
>Highway
>Main road
>Collector road
>Basic road
The roads can only connect with the neighboring tiers and you should zone commercial along the high-capacity roads. It's pretty easy.Then you zone a huge industrial district and everything gridlocks.

I've tried to build stuff like the longest city, the city with most traffic on a highway, large rural areas, cities with actually useful canals for waste management...
