Bioshock 2 is a good video game.

It is. Refined the gunplay of the first game pretty nicely. Minerva's Den is a 10/10 DLC map as well.
IMO its the best in the whole series. No idea why people always give it such a hard time.

Best gameplay in the series, objectively. BioShock 1 had best atmosphere, story, level design, and characters, Infinite had best visuals and narrative, BioShock 2 had best everything else.

nah, not by a long shot.
all the weapons were so fun, it was on the first game in a good while where i actually used everything at my disposal all time. i actually reloaded saves a few time just to tackle a bunch of enemies in different ways.
Bioshock 2's intro is a perfect allegory for the abuse men face in divorce system that greatly favors women.
Bioshock 2 feels like a direct to dvd sequel.
Also evil is the only way to go. Because playing defensively while little sisters harvest gets repetitive and tedious.

The big daddy section towards the end of Bioshock 1 was objectively the absolutely worst part about that game, why they decided to make the sequel a full game of that is beyond me.

I remember reading a review of Bioshock 2 by a critic who'd played an early copy, and he said his main gripe was that you never feel like a Big Daddy.
He was full of shit. By the time you're drill dashing into people and killing them in one hit and popping splicers in the head with a fully upgraded rivet gun between fuel cans, you feel like a goddamned shark.

He was expecting a Bouncer or Rosie. The multiplayer does a better job of making you feel like one of those, but no one played the multiplayer.
As an Alpha Big Daddy, you're meant to feel more versatile, while still packing a punch.

It really is, but I get far more enjoyment out of it when I think that Levine said it was a bad clone with a shitty plot, then he came up with Infinite having the same exact plot elements but far worse writing.

Alternatively I loved the harvesting sections, setting traps and turrets up in just the right locations so that no splicers get to the girls was very satisfying.
I was also absolutely incapable of doing an evil run, something inside me meant I just couldn't bear to see the kids hurt. That was probably one of the reactions they were hoping for.
Having a Little Sister on my shoulder chattering away as I smacked baddies about was nice.
